Fermilab director search update - July 2025

Dear Members of the Fermilab Community,

A key aspect of the ongoing search for the next Director of Fermilab has been engaging with key stakeholders to gain insights on the characteristics the next Director will need for success and the challenges and opportunities the new leader will face. We greatly appreciate the opportunities to have thoughtful and constructive discussions with a wide range of members from the broad Fermilab community.

This month, we will be wrapping up our formal stakeholder engagement sessions through meetings with representatives from:

  • Fermilab Scientist Advisory Council (SAC)
  • Fermilab's Users and Affiliates (UAEC)
  • Community Advisory Board (CAB)
  • Particle Physics Community Meeting
  • US Muon Collider Community

We have learned a great deal from the feedback shared during these conversations and are grateful for the time, insights, and candor that participants have offered. These engagements have been invaluable in shaping our understanding and approach moving forward.
