LabView sessions scheduled for Nov. 16
National Instruments will be at the training center on Friday Nov. 16 offering two sessions: Embedded Design with LabVIEW FPGA and CompactRIO http://www-esh.fnal.gov/pls/default/schedule.show_course_details?cid=4839 . Kautz Road Substation power outage - Oct. 29
On Monday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 7:30 a.m. there will be a power outage to install jumpers on a transmission line. This outage will only affect the Main Injector.

Yoga Begins October 30
The next session of Yoga will be held on Tuesdays, October 30 - December 18 in the Wilson Hall Auditorium. Fee is $90/person. Learn a variety of physical and resting poses along with various breathing and relaxation tehniques. Wear comfortable clothes. Bring a yoga or exercise mat. English country dance Halloween Party Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28
English country dance this Sunday afternoon will celebrate Halloween with a “seasonal” program and fine live music by Old Fezziwig’s Band. Costumes (historic, whimsical, scary or otherwise) and treats for the break are encouraged. The Barn is decorated for the occasion. Newcomers are welcome and there are dances for everyone from 2 to 5. The group returns to its usual 1st Sunday of the month schedule beginning Dec. 2. NALWO Naperville Riverwalk tour and luncheon Thursday, Oct. 25

International Folk Dance Halloween Party, Thursday, Oct. 25
International folk dancing will hold a Halloween Party this Thursday, Oct. 25, 7:30 - 10 p.m. at Kuhn Village Barn. Costumes are encouraged and treats are welcomed. "Playing with Time" at the Field Museum - register by Oct. 31
The University of Chicago Joint Speaker Series features the panel discussion "Playing with Time," which takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at The Field Museum. Fermilab's Joe Lykken will be one of the panelists, and will be joined by scientists from the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory. Registration is required. 2013 403(b) plan limitations
403 (b) Elective Salary Deferral Limit The maximum that participants can contribute to their account in the supplemental retirement plan for 2013 calendar year will increase from $17,000 to $17,500. The $17,500 limit becomes effective on January 1, 2013.
Catch-up Elective Deferrals Employees age 50 and older, or who will become age 50 at any time during 2013 may make elective deferred contributions beyond the $17,500 limit in 2013. These employees will be able to contribute an additional $5,500 in 2013. The limit for the catch-up contribution did not increase for 2013. The catch-up will apply only to those employees who are making the maximum contribution of $17,500.

Enrollment for 2013 benefits - Oct. 22 to Nov. 6
All employees should have received their 2013 benefits information packets via interoffice mail. This is an active enrollment, which means that even if you intend to continue with the same plans and coverage that you have this year, you must re-enroll. If you do not re-enroll, your coverage will be suspended on Dec. 31, 2012. Periodic active enrollments are necessary to ensure that beneficiaries and dependents are up-to-date.

Zumba on Fridays

Don Lincoln to present at Geneva Library
Fermilab scientist Don Lincoln will present the first program in a new series sponsored by the Geneva Library Foundation. The presentation "Did the Large Hadron Collider find the Higgs boson?" will be held on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. This is a free event, registration is not required. Refreshments will be served. The Geneva Library is located at 127 James Street in Geneva.

Four-session survey of God's Promise through history - begins Oct. 30
At noon on October 30, the Bible Exploration for Lunch League plans to begin discussing God's Promise through history. For 4 Tuesday lunch hours you are invited to share this inspiring account that will take us from the beginning in Genesis, through every book of the Bible, up to our own time. CSADay 2012 Training Opportunities - Nov. 6
The annual Computer Security Awareness Day (CSADay2012) Nov. 6 offers you the opportunity to walk in, enroll and attend your required ITNA computer security classes that day. State-of-the-laboratory meetings Oct. 25 and 26
Fermilab Director Pier Oddone and Deputy Director Young-Kee Kim will host four more state-of-the-laboratory meetings in One West next week. The first, for scientists, takes place Thursday, Oct. 25 from 2:30 to 4. The final three take place on Friday, Oct. 26 and are intended for the following groups of employees:• Technical staff: 8:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. • Engineers: 10:30 a.m. to noon • General staff: 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. You are encouraged to attend your designated meeting.

SciTech presents Masters of Lightning - Saturday, Nov. 3
The Masters of Lightning will perform their amazing music and lightning show with the "cage of death" at the SciTech Museum in Aurora on Saturday, Nov. 3. The museum opens at 6 p.m., the program starts at 7 p.m., and the museum will stay open until 9 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Applications being accepted for Wilson Fellowship
The Wilson Fellowship at Fermilab seeks applications from Ph.D. physicists of exceptional talent with at least two years of postdoctoral experience. The fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis and is intended to support strong, assistant professor-level physicists early in their careers. Accelerate to a Healthy Lifestyle update
