Register for 10-minute meetings with Director Search Committee
The Fermilab Director Search Committee, led by former Lockheed Martin chairman and CEO Norman Augustine, will have its next meeting at Fermilab on Dec. 11 and 12. As part of the search process, the committee seeks input from Fermilab employees and the physics community. You can register for a private, ten-minute meeting to be held on Tues., Dec. 11, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a subgroup of the committee. There are a limited number of slots, so register as soon as possible to secure your meeting time at http://fra-hq.org/interviews/.

Budker Seminar December 10
There will be a Budker Seminar Monday, December 10 at 5:00 pm in the User's Center. Speaker: Gene Kafka from IIT. Talk Title: "Muon Ionization Cooling Experiment: Step 1." School's Out Day Camp
School's Out Day Camp to be held December 26, 27, 28, January 2, 3, 4: childcare for school age children (7-12 years) will be offered at Kuhn Barn from 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The cost is $25.00 per camper/per day. Enrollment will be accepted until noon on Wednesday, December 19. Space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The program will be cancelled if less than 7 campers register. Campers will need to bring a lunch. A refrigerator and microwave are available. Beverage at lunch, morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Call Mary or Patti at The Children's Center x3762 or email daycare@fnal.govday to register.

Service Desk staffing hours have been extended
The Service Desk has extended its staffing hours to better serve its customers. The new hours are from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Barn Dance Dec. 9
The Fermilab Folk Club presents a Barn Dance on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kuhn Village Barn with music by Money Creek and calling by Cheryl Joyal. Everyone is welcome. You don't need to know anything, just come and have fun! Admission is $6, children under 12 are free, 12 to 18 year olds and people over 65 are $3. Revised Procedures for Researchers document available online
A revised version of PFX, the document describing procedures for researchers at Fermilab, is now available at http://www.fnal.gov/directorate/PFX/PFX.pdf. The new version of the document addresses the changes that have occurred since May 2011, the date of the previous version. Researchers and service providers are invited to send suggestions and corrections to PFX@fnal.gov in order to ensure it stays useful and up-to-date.

Learn how to reduce clearance through customs from hours to minutes - Thursday, Dec. 13, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wilson Hall, One West -- and streamed live
If you travel overseas, plan to attend a presentation by Fermilab International Services (in collaboration with the Users Executive Committee) on Global Entry, a program that allows for expedited clearance through immigration and customs on return to the U.S. During live streaming of the presentation at http://www-visualmedia.fnal.gov/live.htm, questions will be accepted via email at visaoffice@fnal.gov. After, the recording of the presentation slides will be available at visas.fnal.gov. You need not attend the presentation to participate in the Application Interview Event at Fermilab on February 28. Email visas.fnal.gov to request to be scheduled for an interview.

The Good Lovelies: Under the Mistletoe - Fermilab Arts Series

Fermilab Heartland Blood Drive December 10 & 11 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m
Fermilab will host a walk-in only Heartland Blood Drive on December 10 & 11 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the WH ground floor training room. Employee Discount at Journey Cycle and BMX
Journey Cycle and BMX, located in Aurora at Kirk and Butterfield Road, will be celebrating the season by offering 15% off the purchase of a new bike and/or 10% off any service or accessory when customers bring in a used bike for donation. Bicycles will be cleaned and tuned up and donated to a local organization including Hesed House and DuPage PADS. The program is running through December 20, 2012. AFS Passwords To Be Discontinued Beginning December 11
Soon, users of AFS passwords will have one fewer password to remember. Passwords used to log in to AFS (not Kerberos credentials, which grant access to AFS as well as other services) will be discontinued beginning December 11 to be complete by December 13. If you access AFS via UNIX, Linux or Mac (using your MIT Kerberos credentials) or via Windows (using NetID Manager), this change will have no impact on you. If you use an AFS password to access AFS, you will need to take one of the actions in the "What Do You Need To Do?" section of this article from the Service Desk at https://fermi.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0010730.

Fermilab's Holiday Celebration on Dec. 13
Thursday, December 13, 4 to 6:30 p.m., Wilson Hall Atrium Celebrate with your Fermilab colleagues and coworkers. No International Folk Dancing on Thanksgiving, but dancing every Thursday through December
International Folk Dancing will not meet this Thursday on Thanksgiving (11/22), but will meet every Thursday in December, as usual at 7:30 p.m. at Kuhn Village Barn. On Dec. 27, a special dance party is planned to welcome visitors who are back in town for the holidays. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early and request dancing later. C2ST screening of A Beautiful Mind - Dec. 6
On Dec. 6, at 6 p.m., the University of Chicago and the Chicago Council for Science and Technology will screen "A Beautiful Mind", the first screening of the new Science on the Screen series.
