Yoga Mondays Registration Due October 19

Zumba Fitness Registration Due October 15

Powerful pair of speakers scheduled 10/12 and 10/19
To celebrate October as Diversity Awareness Month, Fermilab's Women's Initiative has scheduled two outstanding speakers to visit the lab. All employees are invited! Join us on Monday 10/12 to hear from Dr. Magdolna Hargittai - "Successful Women Scientists from Around the Globe" - conversations with the most successful women scientists of our time. Monday 10/19 features Dr. Clemencia Consentino - "The Case for Revitalizing the Nation's Talent Pool in STEM" - gender equality and improving the participation of underrepresented groups in education and in the scientific workforce. Both events take place in One West at 3 PM.

Concert of SATOR DUO Kuhn Village Barn at Fermilab - Oct. 21, 2015 7.30pm
CAIF, the Cultural Association of Italians at Fermilab, presents the concert of the exciting ensemble SATOR DUO. Wednesday October 21, at 7:30pm Kuhn Village Barn at Fermilab Rt. 59 at Batavia Road Batavia, IL Violinist Paolo Castellani and guitarist Francesco Di Giandomenico play the colorful music from Argentina, Spain and Puerto Rico. They will present their latest album, SatorTango, that contains some of the most passionate tango music you'll hear anywhere! This is their third visit to Chicago and they continue to build audiences throughout Europe and our area. Admission is $10 ($5 for students w/ ID). Barn Dance Oct. 11
The Fermilab Folk Club presents a Barn Dance on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kuhn Village Barn with music by Jordan & Friends and calling by Cheryl Joyal. Everyone is welcome. You don't need to know anything, just come and have fun! Admission is $6, children under 12 are free, 12 to 18 year olds and people over 65 are $3. School's Day Out: Oct. 9, 12
School's Day Out Camp: October 9 and 12. Childcare for school age children (7-12 years) will be offered at Kuhn Barn from 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., cost is $25.00 per camper/per day. Enrollment will be accepted until noon on Wednesday, October 7. Space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The program will be cancelled if less than 7 register. Campers will need to bring a lunch. A refrigerator and microwave are available. Beverage at lunch, morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Email daycare@fnal.gov to register.

Contemplating over it sheds light on a radical inconsistency between his view on the problem of evil and one of a thinker most esteemed by him, Immanuel Kant. Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) end of life December 14
Starting December 14, the Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) operating system will no longer be supported by Apple and therefore, will no longer receive security updates. Fermilab-owned computers, by laboratory policy, must run vendor-supported operating systems to avoid security risks. Mac OS X Mountain Lion users must submit a Service Desk ticket at https://fermi.service-now.com/fsc/ to have their computer upgraded to OS X Yosemite (10.10) before December 14. After that date, any computer running OS X Mountain Lion will be blocked from accessing the Fermilab network. If you have any questions, please contact the Service Desk.

Indoor Soccer
Indoor Soccer is on Tuesdays (6:00 pm – 9:00 pm) and Thursdays (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm) and Sundays (4:00 pm – 7:00 pm) in the Gym at the Village. Gym membership required. Please contact O'Sheg Oshinowo at Oshinowo@fnal.gov for more information.

FY 2017 Diversity Visa Lottery Registration Open
US Department of State began accepting online registrations for the FY 2017 Diversity Visa lottery ("Green Card lottery"). Foreign nationals have until November 3 to file online. Muscle Toning Registration Due, October 8th

Scheduling a meeting with the Visa Office, just got easier. We no longer require you to schedule a meeting; however, if you wish to schedule a time with a staff member please use Outlook. If you don't have outlook no worries we have an open door policy. We welcome all visa related questions and are excited to work with you.

International folk dancing Thursday evenings at Kuhn Barn
International folk dancing meets weekly, Thursday evenings, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early in the evening and request dancing later on. Many of the dances are lines and circles, with no partners needed. There will be a special workshop on English dancing on Thursday, October 15, 7:30 to 10 p.m., at Kuhn Barn, with various guest teachers joining us for the Harvest Moon Dance Weekend. Scottish country dancing meets Tuesdays evenings at Kuhn Barn
Scottish country dancing meets weekly from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday evenings. Newcomers are always welcome and are paired with experienced dancers -- no need to come with a partner. English country dancing Sunday afternoons, Oct. 4 and 25, at Kuhn Barn, and special workshop Thursday evening Oct. 15
An "extra" session of English country dancing will be held Sunday, October 4, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Kuhn Village Barn. The program will focus on preparation for the upcoming Harvest Moon Dance Weekend, Oct. 16-18, featuring Bare Necessities, the nation's most famous English dance musicians. The next regular Sunday English dance at Fermilab will be the Halloween party on October 25. Process Piping Design (ASME) and Process Piping, Material, Fabrication, Examination and Testing (ASME & API) scheduled October 13, 14, 15 and 16
