Fermilab Board Game Guild
The Fermilab Board Game Guild meets every Tuesday at the User's Center from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Everyone is welcome, and no connection with Fermilab is required. Board games played include, but are not limited to, Puerto Rico, Ticket To Ride, Seven Wonders, Stone Age, Attica, Alhambra, Citadels, and many more. Attendance for the full four hours is not required. Come and go as you please. Any questions, e-mail wmtan@fnal.gov

WalkingWorks Week 2 Winners
Thank you to those who have already signed up and participated in the WalkingWorks program. It's not too late to sign up, log your steps, and win prizes. Week 2 Participation Drawing Winner is Carrie McGivern. Our Top Walker goes to Karen Seifrid with 104,994 steps. Congratulations to the both of you. Annual Domestic Hydrant Flushing
The annual site wide domestic hydrant flushing process has been scheduled for Saturday 6-6-2015 & Sunday 6-7-2015, 0700am to 1700pm(weather permitting). During the flushing process you may notice momentary pressure drops, discoloration of the water during and after the flushing process. Chicago Science Fest - May 28-30
The Fermilab-sponsored Chicago Science Fest is coming up. This three-day science extravaganza includes a panel with Congressman Bill Foster, film screenings, an art exhibit, and a full day of science talks aimed at adults. Topics for the talks include microorganisms on your body, the real science of GMO foods, and plenty of others – including physics talks by Fermilab's Dan Hooper, Elise Jennings, and Keith Matera. http://www.illinoisscience.org/event/chicago-science-festival/

Scottish country dancing meets Tuesday evenings at Kuhn Village Barn
Scottish country dancing is held Tuesday evenings through June 9 at Kuhn Barn and then will move to Ramsey Auditorium in Wilson Hall for the summer, starting June 16. Dancing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The group is taught by Doug Jensen. Newcomers are always welcome and are paired with experienced dancers -- no need to come with a partner. Muscle Toning Registration Due June 2nd
The next session of Muscle Toning will be held on Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 9 - July 30, from 5-6pm at the Fitness Center Exercise Room. Fee is $82. Please register in the Wellness Office, WH15W by June 2. This class meets for a fun and effective workout, designed for all fitness levels. It can build endurance and strong muscles, speed up metabolism, and improve balance and flexibility. Endurance training develops long, lean, well-shaped, toned musculature -- muscles that are strong and do not fatigue easily. International folk dancing Thursday evenings at Kuhn Barn thru June 11, cancelled May 28
International folk dancing meets Thursday evenings through June 11 at Kuhn Barn , then moves for the summer to Ramsey Auditorium, starting June 18 and continuing weekly on Thursdays. There will be no meeting, however, on May 28. Dancing runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and newcomers are always welcome. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early and request dancing later on. English country dancing this Sunday, May 24, at Kuhn Barn
English country dancing will be held this Sunday, May 24, at Kuhn Village Barn. The program starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 to 5 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome to join this social and accessible sort of dancing. We will dance to beautiful recorded music. Next month's dance, on June 21, will feature live music by Old Fezziwig's Band. The group meets monthly, year-round. Bill Kurtis Presents How the American Diet is Killing You
Broadcast Journalist, Bill Kurtis, will present How the American Diet is Killing You on Wednesday, June 3, 12-1pm in Wilson Hall One West. Seating is limited. With more than 40 years in broadcasting, Emmy and Peabody award winning Bill Kurtis has created a body of work that is virtually unparalleled. As a reporter in both Chicago and Los Angeles, he's covered history's biggest stories. Kurtis cemented his reputation as an investigative journalist when he broke the Agent Orange story in 1978 detailing the health effects suffered by veterans exposed to the chemical during the Vietnam War.

Pilates Registration Due May 22nd
The next session of Pilates will be held on Mondays, June 1 to July 13, from 12-12:45pm in the Fitness Center Exercise Room. Fee is $87. Please register by 5/22, WH15W. This Mat Pilates class is suitable for beginner and intermediate level participants. Pilates is an excellent way to reduce back pain, strengthen your core and increase flexibility. This class focuses on low impact floor exercises that target the deep muscles of the abdomen and spine. Some major benefits include improved posture, balance, core strength, flexibility and long, lean muscles without excess bulk. Fermilab Pool Open June 9th...Memberships Available
Pool open Tuesday, June 9-Sunday, August 16. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 12-7pm, Saturday & Sunday, 1-6pm. Closed Mondays. Pool membership open to Fermi employees, retirees, visiting researchers, contractors, onsite DOE employees, students & immediate families living in the same household. Memberships are not transferable and are non-refundable. Memberships are sold in the Wellness Office of WH15W, Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Single Membership $130. Family Membership $305 (up to 4 family members, additional family members over 4 are $55). Lifeguards do not sell memberships. They do sell daily passes. Daily Rate $8/person. Managing Conflict (half-day) on June 10
This class is for individuals who want to boost their conflict management skills. Learn to accept and manage conflict more effectively. Upon completing this half day class, you will be able to identify your default conflict management style, how to capitalize on various conflict management styles, accept conflict as an inevitable part of all work situations, be aware of the positive and negative byproducts of conflict on the job, understand how to establish a cooperative atmosphere in which to resolve conflicts as they arise, and learn and practice a step-by-step collaborative approach to resolving conflict. LDRD Preliminary Proposals due May 29
Laboratory Directed Research and Developement (LDRD) funds employee initiated projects at the forefront of science and technology that are aligned with the missions of DOE and Fermilab. Start with your new novel idea that you want to explore! See the LDRD web site (ldrd.fnal.gov). A first required step is a 1 page Preliminary Proposal that is due May 29, 2015. Wednesday Walkers Begins

Adult Water Aerobics at Fermilab Pool
Adult Water Aerobics will be offered on two separate days this year at the Fermilab Pool. Sign up for Mondays or Wednesdays or both. Monday sessions will be held June 15 to August 3 from 11:30am-12:15pm. Fee is $65. Registration closes Monday, June 8. Wednesday sessions will be held June 17 to August 5 from 11:30am-12:15pm. Swim Lessons at Fermilab Pool
Four sessions of preschool and youth swim lessons will be offered this summer at the Fermilab Pool. First session is Monday-Thursday, June 15-June 25. Fridays will be used as makeup days if needed. Preschool Lessons are 10:15-11am. All other youth should sign up for Beginner Lessons from 9:30-10:15am (children will be assessed the first day and placed in an appropriate swim lesson group based on ability). Living Green! new Fermilab Library book display
Living Green! is the new book display in the Fermilab Library. We have several books to browse through, along with an audio cd about harnessing the sun and ocean for energy. Topics include solar and wind energy, turbines, climate change. Also on display are copies of our journal Home Power. Check out the WATT Detective kit.
