Vehicles in restricted parking lots from July 25-27 will be towed
Most of the parking lot west of Wilson Hall and on the west side of the pond in front of Wilson Hall will be closed beginning Friday, July 25, at 6 p.m. Vehicles will be towed if they are not removed from the restricted area before 6 p.m. on July 25 (see linked map below). August 18 deadline for The University of Chicago Tuition Remission Program

English country dancing Sunday July 27 at Kuhn Barn
English country dancing will be held Sunday, July 27, at Kuhn Village Barn. The program starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 to 5 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome to join this social and accessible sort of dancing. The group meets monthly, year-round, with live music usually every other month. The next dance is August 10. Final Swim Lessons Registration Due 7/28
Registration for the last session of Preschool and Beginner swim lessons is due Monday, July 28. Lesson dates are Monday thru Thursday August 4 - August 14. Makeup days will be held on Friday if need be due to weather. If your child is more advanced than a Beginner Swimmer then they should sign up for the Beginner time slot and will be placed in an appropriate level class. Call for applications: URA Visiting Scholars Program
Universities Research Association Inc. has announced a deadline of Monday, Aug. 25, for the submission of applications for the fall 2014 cycle of awards in the URA Visiting Scholars Program at Fermilab. Award recipients will be notified at the end of September. These awards provide financial support for faculty and students from URA's 88 member universities to work at Fermilab for periods of up to one year. URA makes two rounds of awards each year, in the spring and fall. The application deadline for the spring 2015 cycle is Feb. 23, 2015. Proposed visits can range from attendance at conferences or summer schools held at Fermilab to year-long research stays. Support from this program can include transportation costs and local lodging expenses during a series of shorter visits or salary support during a longer visit. Individual awardees may receive up to a maximum of $50,000 in any 12-month period. The 88 URA member universities each have agreed to contribute $5,000 a year for five years in support of joint Fermilab-URA research and education initiatives. Fermilab Prairie Plant Survey
You can be a Citizen Scientists at Fermilab. Help us gather valuable data on prairie plant populations. It's not difficult. With a little practice, you will be able to use our equipment to identify prairie plants, map a prairie plot and enter your data in our website. Join our experts as we track restoration progress along. Suggested age is 10 and older. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Scottish country dancing at Ramsey Auditorium Tuesday evenings
Scottish country dancing is meeting Tuesday evenings in Ramsey Auditorium for the summer. Dancing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The times on summer Tuesdays in Ramsey Auditorium will be the same. The group is usually taught by Doug Jensen. Newcomers are always welcome and are paired with experienced dancers -- no need to come with a partner. International folk dancing Thursday evenings at Ramsey Auditorium
International folk dancing meets Thursday evenings through the summer at Ramsey Auditorium. Dancing runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and newcomers are always welcome. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early and request dancing later on.
