Accelerator Update

Monday December 15
The day shift began with the Tevatron (Tev) turning on, stacking in the Antiproton Source (Pbar), and with beam to MiniBoone.

At 8:25 AM we had circulating beam in the Tev.

Switchyard 120 (SY120) studies began at 11:00 AM and ended at 2:00 PM.

At 1:00 PM an access was made into the Tev to replace a bad turbo vacuum pump.

Tev is back up at 5:00 PM.

SY120 turns back on at 9:00 PM.

At 11:11 PM the Tev quenched at A11, while at low beta.

Tuesday December 16
Beam returns to the Tev at 1:20 AM.

At 9:21 AM the Tev begins a 36 X 0 store.

From 11:30 AM to 1:40 PM the Recycler Ring (RR) has been sending Pbars to the Main Injector (MI).

At 2:18 PM the Tev is taking the proton store to 980 Gev.

At 2:40 PM the Tev quenched at D4.

The Tev was once again ramping at 6:08 PM.

At 6:30 PM the Tev quenched once again at D4.

Access was made into the Tev at 10:12 PM to investigate the cause of the quench.

Wednesday December 17
The midnight shift begins with Pbar stacking, Miniboone taking beam, Booster studies, and investigation of the Tev quenches.

At 1:47 AM the Pbar source broke the stack record of 236 mA. The new record is 245.017 mA.

Booster studies ended at 3:21 AM.

At 7:11 AM a Tev access is being made to check a damping resistor that could be the cause of the problems at D4.

Today's Plans
Repair the Tev and return to normal operations (stack and Tev stores).
