Blackberry Oaks Golf League
This Monday evening league will be an individual medal play competition. Each golfer will be competing against the field every week based on handicap. Coed Softball Season Begins May 13

Bulgarian Dance Workshop, March 19
Fermilab International Folk Dancing is pleased to present a (second) workshop on Bulgarian dance, this one with Nina Kavardjikova, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 19, at Kuhn Village Barn at Fermilab. URA visiting Scholars applications due March 20
Universities Research Association, Inc. has announced a deadline of Friday, March 20, for the submission of applications for the first round of 2009 awards in the URA Visiting Scholars Program at Fermilab. The URA awards support visits by researchers, faculty, postdocs or students from the 87 URA-member universities to work at Fermilab for periods of up to one year. NALWO - Adler Planetarium Trip - March 21
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory Women’s Organization Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum Sat., March 21, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A chartered school bus will be leaving from the Lederman Education Center at 9:30 a.m. and will return at approximately 3:30 p.m. Tour costs: $10/adult & $8/children (children ages 3 to 14) Pre-paid reservations are required by March 7. Tour cost includes general admission to the planetarium, and to their latest show “Cosmic Collisions” in their all-digital projection Definiti® Space Theater. Lunch is on your own, you may bring a "brown bag".

NALWO "Meet the Teacher" English Class - March 23
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory Women’s Organization “Meet the Teacher” English Class with Coffee & Donuts Monday, March 23, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If you are interested in participating in the NALWO English language classes that are offered on a regular basis at the User’s Center (Mon. and Fri. mornings from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.), but haven’t had a chance to do so, please consider attending the class on Mon., March 23, which will give you an opportunity to meet one of the volunteer instructors. On Mon., March 23, at 10:00 a.m. Betty Fernandez will present the class with a unit on health, and will introduce the vocabulary and terminology that one needs for a doctor’s visit. At 11:00 a.m. the class will break for coffee and donuts, and an informal discussion about future classes. Classes are free, and you may begin at any time. Children are welcome, but no babysitting is provided; children either read or do quiet activities, while classes are in progress. Child Care program offered - March 24
Exciting Explorations!, a child care program for children ages 7-12, will be offered March 30- Apr. 4 depending on interest. A summer camp counselor will lead the program. Two snacks and beverages are provided. Please send a sack lunch. Program cost is $25.00 a day and payment is due upon reservation. Reservations are due March 24. Dandia/ Garba Dance evening on March 28th
The Indian Association at Fermilab- "Drishti" invites you for Dandia/Garba dance in celebration of the "Holi" Festival on March 28, from 4-6:30 p.m at the Fermilab Village Barn. The dance will be followed by a potluck dinner. Please bring your favorite dish to share. Dandia sticks will be provided for the dance and there will be free lessons for new comers. English Country Dancing, Apr. 5
English Country Dancing will take place on Sunday, Apr. 5, at Kuhn Village Barn. A session for advanced dancers starts at 1 p.m. Dancing for all levels begins at 2 p.m. A potluck supper will follow (if there is interest) at about 5:30 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome. Barn Dance March 8
Barn Dance Sunday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Barn with music by the Roarsharks. Slightly dangerous, mostly harmless and always grooving, the Roarsharks are a superb contra band. Meg Dedolph, Walter Hojka, Peter Martin and Jonathan Whitall take the stage with their fiddles, piano, hammered dulcimer, flute, banjo and drums. Caller Paul Watkins manages the mayhem. Arianna String Quartet Performs in Gallery Chamber Series - Sunday, March 8
Hailed for their outstanding musicianship, the Arianna String Quartet hasestablished itself as one of America's finest chamber ensembles. Formed in 1992, they garnered national attention by winning the Grand Prize in the 1994 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, and First Prize in both the Coleman and Carmel Chamber Music Competitions. They were also Laureates in the 1999 Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition. The quartet has performed at Tanglewood, Spoleto, and on NPR's "Performance Today." The Fermilab Housing Office is now taking requests for houses, apartments, and dormitory rooms for the Summer of 2009. Heartland Blood Drive Disney Vacation Winners
Thank you for supporting the Heartland Blood Centers by donating during the Feb 17 & 18th blood drive. It was a wonderful turnout and 94 units of blood were collected. Many area patients and their families will benefit from your generosity. Fermilab Barnstromers Delta Dart Night - March 11
The Fermilab Barnstormers Radio Control Model Club will host their annual Delta Dart Night at the Kuhn Barn on Wednesday night March 11, starting at 5:30 p.m. The Delta Dart is a small rubber band powered airplane constructed of balsa wood and tissue paper. You can build one of these airplanes in about 45 minutes and fly it that evening in the Kuhn barn for fun and prizes. No experience is necessary. Barnstormers club members will be on hand to guide you through every step of the construction and will also give some tips for making the plane fly. Guaranteed fun for all. Fermilab Arts Series Presents Solas - March 14
Since its birth in 1996, Solas has been loudly proclaimed as the most popular, influential, and exciting Celtic band to ever emerge from the United States. Even before the release of its first CD, the Boston Herald trumpeted the quartet as "the first truly great Irish band to arise from America and the Irish Echo ranked Solas among the "most exciting bands anywhere in the world". Since then, the praise has only grown louder. The Philadelphia Inquirer said they make "mind-blowing Irish folk music, maybe the world's best". The New York Times praised their "unbridled vitality".
