At Fermilab, our scientific program pushes forward on three interrelated frontiers that help us answer those questions: the Energy, Intensity and Cosmic Frontiers. Each has a unique approach to making discoveries, and all three are essential to answering key questions about the laws of nature and the cosmos.
At the Energy Frontier, we analyze data from particle collisions to explore the fundamental constituents and forces that make up the universe. At the Intensity Frontier, we use accelerators to create intense beams of particles to search for ultra-rare subatomic processes that reveal hidden symmetries and particle interactions. At the Cosmic Frontier, we use the cosmos as a laboratory to investigate the architecture of the universe and the fundamental laws of physics, complementing experiments at particle accelerators.
