ftt documentation
The Fermi Tape Tools (ftt) product is a low level tape interface library
designed to provide platform and drive independent I/O on Fermilab
supported platforms, and to be portable to other platforms and drives.
It is a common layer of sofware shared by
daft,
ocs, and
rbio.
The low level SCSI code is being used in juke.
The source code is now browsable online, but only onsite at Fermilab
here.
The currently supported platforms are:
- AIX 3.2.x
- AIX 4.x
- IRIX 5.x
- IRIX 6.x
- Linux 2.x
- OSF1 V3.2D
- OSF1 V4.0
- SunOS 5.x
And the currently supported drives are:
- Exabyte 8200
- Exabyte 8500
- Exabyte 8505
- DLT 2x00
- DLT 4x00
Premlinary support on some platforms is included for
- Exabyte 8900 "Mammoth"
- Sony AIC Drives
The product also includes a command line interface called ftt_test
which can be used for tape testing, etc.
