Ladder Up is a great organization that provides free income tax preparation for low income families and individuals. You can help by preparing tax returns and/or FAFSA forms, assisting with site support (client check-in and coordination), translating and other things. Free training is provided and all returns are prepared by trained volunteers then double checked by other trained volunteers. There are tax prep locations in the city and at many suburban locations as well. If you are looking for a way to give back to the community, this is a very good program.
