International folk dancing, Thursday evenings at Kuhn Village Barn beginning Nov. 5
International Folk Dancing meets every week on Thursday from 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at Kuhn Village Barn. There are dances for children and teaching early in the evening and request dancing later on. Process piping (ASME B31.3) class offered in Nov. 18, 19 and 20
Gain a clearer understanding of how piping systems fail and the code requirements and guidance to prevent such failures. In Toastmaster club, you'll learn to relax, plan and present a terrific speech - whether you have 10 days to prepare or just 10 seconds. You'll learn to listen effectively, think on your feet and speak confidently in a wide range of situations. Best of all, you'll practice in a friendly, supportive environment with people who are there for the same reasons you are- to become a better communicator and leader. The goal of TurkeyDate is to ensure that everyone at Fermilab has a place to go and a meal to share on Thanksgiving Day. To make this a success, we need hosts and guests: Hosts may be anyone who has a home and a meal to share (employee, contractor or user). Guests may be anyone who – for any reason – lacks a local Thanksgiving celebration (employee, contractor or user). Veterans Day celebration in Kuhn Barn - Nov. 11
Fermilab's veterans will host an event in honor of Veterans Day from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in Kuhn Barn. All veterans are welcome. East Aurora High School's naval ROTC will present the colors. WWII veteran Ray Waver, a B24 Radio Gunner with the 367th Heavy Bombardment Group, European Theater, will speak about his experiences and his fellow veterans. Travelers must complete profile for TSA
Effective immediately, the Fermilab Travel Office requires all Fermilab travelers, travel arrangers and users to complete a travel profile that includes your name, birth date, home address, emergency contact details, business e-mail, business phone number and Fermilab ID number. The TSA requires airlines to collect additional passenger data for their flights. To comply with the requirements and to minimize delays at security check points, the Fermilab Travel Office will transmit information collected from you to the airlines. PeopleSoft and Employee Self Service temporarily unavailable Nov. 12
The PeopleSoft system, which provides Employee Self Service, will be unavailable Thursday, Nov. 12, starting 3:00 p.m., as it undergoes an upgrade. The system will be available again at the open of business on Friday, Nov. 13, at 6:00 a.m.
