Fermilab GSA Halloween Party - Oct. 30
The Fermilab Graduate Student Alliance is hosting its annual Halloween Party from 7:30 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 30 at the Kuhn Village barn. Costumes are encouraged, as we are also having a costume contest. Performing will be the band Drug Sniffing Dogs. We will provide food, candy and beverages.

Fermi Martial Arts Classes beginning Nov. 2
A new session of Kyuki-Do classes begins next week. Kyuki-Do is a Korean martial art based on taekwondo. You will learn how to kick, punch, judo throws, falls, and self defense. Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. at the Recreation Facility in the Village. A session is normally six weeks, but this session will have a one week break. The cost for this five week session is $45. A uniform will be supplied for students who have never taken a martial arts class before. Only eight students can participate at a time, so register early. Fermilab Cafeteria Closed Saturday, October 31
The Fermilab Cafeteria will be closed this Saturday, October 31, in order to conduct maintenance on the food services equipment.

English country dancing, Nov. 1, with live music
English country dancing will hold a Halloween-themed afternoon of dancing to live music by Old Fezziwig's Band, this Sunday, Nov. 1, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Kuhn Village Barn. Advanced dancing is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and a potluck supper will follow. All are welcome, as are costumes and Halloween treats. Director's Award nominations accepted until Oct. 26
The Education Office is accepting nominees for the 2009 Director's Award until Oct. 26. The $1,000 award is given each year to one volunteer whose contributions are exceptional, even among the many outstanding volunteer supporters of Fermilab's K–12 education programs. Health Risk Assessments-Learn more about your potential health risks
Our healthcare carriers are providing Fermilab employees an opportunity to take a confidential health risk assessment. The assessment is a health survey that provides feedback on the likelihood that you will develop common medical problems or injuries in the future. Employees completing a Health Risk Assessment by November 15 will be entered into a raffle drawing for prizes which include an iPod Shuffle or iPod Nano. "Taking Care of Yourself as Caregiver" - Oct. 28
Wednesday, October 28, Noon-1:00 p.m., Room One West, Speaker: Ginny Stack, Fermilab EAP. Who are the Sandwich Generation? They are the nearly 10 billion boomers that are now raising kids, teenagers or young adults while providing financial support for an aging parent. Learn how to care for yourself while "sandwiched" between generations. Presentation followed by open discussion. Ginny Stack, MS, LCPC provides on-site Employee Assistance Program services to Fermilab. She is a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who has private practices in Naperville and Downers Grove.

Health Screenings Available
Gain understanding of your health risks by participating in the On-site Health and Wellness Screening. Take the first step to better health and get screened. Many people who are at risk for serious illness are not aware of it.
