Accelerator Update

Friday December 12
The day shift began with the Tevatron (Tev) in access, stacking in the Antiproton Source (Pbar), and with beam to MiniBoone.

Eight Pbar shots were sent to the Recycler Ring (RR) starting at 10:46 AM and ending at 1:09 PM.

At 4:30 PM Operations secured the D0 collision hall so that the experiment could test their magnets. The test was completed at 8:40 PM.

Saturday December 13
Beam returns to MiniBoone at 12:45 AM.

Warm up of the CDF low beta quads began at 3:24 AM, this is being done to realign the quads.

Warm up of the low beta quads is complete by 6:33 AM.

Pbar returns to stacking at 9:10 AM, Pbar studies begin shortly after.

Switchyard 120 (SY120) studies began at 2:12 PM and ended at 4:20 PM.

The low beta quad alignment is completed at 4:42 PM.

The conning tower checkout is complete, cooldown has began.

Sunday December 14
Pbar shots were sent to the Recycler Ring (RR) starting at 12:27 AM and ended at 1:09 AM. Pbar then returned to stacking.

Pbar halted stacking at 7:39 AM, then went into reverse proton mode for studies.

SY120 begins studies once again at 8:27 AM, and ended at 3:49 PM.

The Tev secure started at 6:37 PM.

D0 secure begins at 9:15 PM.

Pbar shots were sent to the Recycler Ring (RR) starting at 10:03 PM and ended at 11:15 PM. Pbar then returned to stacking.

Monday December 15
The Tev turn on had begun.

At 6:31 AM, Tev begins to ramp.

Tev did a dry squeeze at 6:50 AM.

Today's Plans
Continue with the Tev checkout and studies. Estimate for a Tev store is approximately 48 hours.
