Accelerator Update for June 27, 2007 - June 29, 2007

Wednesday June 27

The day shift began with Operations monitoring the Recycle stash (136.5E10), with the Antiproton Source (Pbar) stacking (23.7E10), with the Linac, Booster, and Main Injector (MI) operating normally, with NuMI taking beam, with MiniBooNE off due to RAW system problems and with D-Zero (D0) and the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) waiting for the colliding beams.

Operations prepared CDF and D0 for access at 9:56 AM.

MiniBooNE turned back on at 10:39 AM.

CDF and D0 were out of access by 11:33 AM

Operations put the Tevatron (TeV) into shot setup at 2:38 PM.

The TeV aborted and dumped the ramp at 5:10 PM. The dump was caused by a lighting strike at C2, Frig recovery is in process. Shot setup is on hold.

MTest turned on at 5:35 PM.

MTest turned off at 8:00 PM

The C2 frig was recovered by 8:51 PM

Operations put the Tevatron (TeV) into shot setup at 11:07 PM.

Thursday June 28

The midnight shift began with Operations in shot setup and with NuMI and MiniBooNE taking beam.

Operations established store 5524 at 12:31 AM with an initial luminosity of 194.87E30.

Operations reported at 8:12 AM that the Recycler had stashed antiprotons four times during the midnight shift.

Operations reported at 4:18 PM that the Recycler had stashed antiprotons twice during the day shift.

Operations terminated store 5524 at 8:02 PM.

B:NOKER (A power supply used with the Booster notcher) tripped at 8:12 PM, experts were called in to investigate.

B:NOKER was repaired by 11:48 PM.

Operations put the TeV into shot setup at 11:48 PM.

Friday June 29

The midnight shift began with Operations in shot setup and with NuMI and MiniBooNE taking beam.

Operations established store 5526 at 1:54 AM with an initial luminosity of 212.53E30.

MTest turned on at 6:04 AM.

Operations reported at 8:12 AM that the Recycler had stashed antiprotons three times during the midnight shift.

The Plans for Friday and the weekend

The plans for today and the weekend are to stack, stash, and store.
