Subject: A Major Power Outage
Last week it was discovered that a insulator attached to a 345 kV power
pole for the master substation was pulling out of the power pole. (It looks
like an extreme case of pole rot.) This development means that we have
to replace a power pole.
There will be a 30 minute master substation Power outage followed by three days
of repair and a second 30 minute power outage on the 4th day. (Weather permitting.)
The first power outage will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2003 from 7:00-7:30 a.m. .
The second power outage will be on Friday, May 30th from 7:00-7:30 a.m. .(Once again, weather permitting.)
The following areas will be affected by the power outage:
- Linac
- Booster
- Cub
- MR
- Tev
- Crossgallery
- Transfergallery
- Minos
- All the external beam lines
- Feeder 46b Cryo
- Feeder 38 CHL
- CDF/D0/Feynman
- Wilson hall
- Miniboone detecter building
- Education building
- RF F0
- Industrial buildings
The following areas will NOT be affected:
- Village
- Feeder 46a Cryo
- Feeder 24 Pbar
- Main injector
- Mi-12a,Mi-12b,Mi-13,
- Mi60
- Mi65
