When we are young, our perspective on the world is fresh, confusing, wonderful and hungry for context.
These images are from that world... the world in which I was raised. As adults we filter, append, translate and edit imagery as fast as it enters our heads until it seems we fail to see the lines and symmetry of thoughtful production that surround us.
This place you are about to enter has walls to shield you from the everyday assault on our vision of things that don't matter.
What you'll see here are flying machines built between 1919 and yesterday. They represent a purposeful compromise of form to fit function with a dash of aesthetic and splashes of artistry.
I've chosen these images to allow you peace to look at this facet of the world steeped in the careful craftsmanship of thoughtful engineering and, perhaps, touch your childlike fascination for just a little while.
