Miscellaneous

Warrenville Public Library District - Free Program Glaciers to Wildflowers: How Illinois' Living Landscape Came to Be Tuesday, June 2, 7 p.m. We are pleased to welcome back Raymond Wiggers as he relates the fascinating origins of our state's living landscape, including its landforms, soils, forests, prairies, peatlands and savannas. He will show how Illinois' diverse array of plant species, habitats and scenic locales is the product of vast geologic forces operating over millions of years. He will place special emphasis on how our state's scenery and ecosystems have experienced dramatic changes since the waning of the latest Ice Age glacier. This talk is of special significance for conservationists, horticulturists and all interested persons who seek a better understanding of the environment in which they live. Contact: Warrenville Public Library District at www.warrenville.com or 630-393-1171.
