Martial Arts Classes
Kyuki-Do is a Korean martial art similar to Taekwondo. The Next Fermi Kyuki-Do Martial Arts session begins on September 24. I will teach you how to kick, punch, block, throw and fall, and basic self defense. Classes are held for six weeks on Monday and Wednesdays from 5 - 6 pm at the Recreation Facility in the Village. You need to register for the class through the Recreation Office. The cost is $55.00. You do not need a gym membership to join this class. I will supply a free uniform to students who have never participated in martial arts before. This class is limited to ten students.

International Folk Dancing returns to Kuhn Village Barn Sept. 13
International Folk Dancing will meet once more in Ramsey Auditorium this Thursday, Sept. 6, and then return to Kuhn Village Barn on Sept. 13 for the fall season. Dancing is held weekly Thursdays from 7:30 to 10 p.m. with instruction and dances for newer dancers early and request dancing later. Newcomers are always welcome. NALWO and Playgroup SciTech Museum Visit
NALWO and Playgroup invite Fermilab employees, users, and their families to experience the Aurora SciTech Museum, scitechmuseum.org, on Saturday, October 6 from 10am to 5pm at a reduced rate of $3 per person. Scottish country dancing returns to Kuhn Village Barn - Sept. 4
Silk and Thistle Scottish Country Dancing will move back Kuhn Village Barn for the fall season this Tuesday, Sept. 4. The group meets from 7:30 to 10 p.m., and is taught by Doug Jensen. Walk 2 Run Begins September 6
This FREE 10-week program can teach you to run, improve your fitness, and assist you in losing weight. Week One will consist of a 2 minute run and a 4 minute walk, repeated 5 times. We will gradually increase our running potential over the 10 weeks. Week Ten you will complete a 30 minute continuous run. You are welcome to join us regardless of age, speed or level of experience. Thursdays: September 6 - November 8. Meet outside WH, East Side: 4:45 – 5:30 p.m. Wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothes. Bring water. Fermilab Management Practices Seminar - Oct. 4 - Dec. 6. The Fermilab Management Practices Seminar (FMP) provides new supervisors and managers with the essential tools for effective leadership and management. It also provides experienced supervisors and managers with the opportunity to update and renew their management skills. Interpersonal Communication Skills - Nov. 14. Increase your awareness of your communication skills and personality type.
