Creation's Birthday - July 5 - at Ramsey - A New Play about Hubble and Einstein
The Astronomy League and Chicago Astronomic Society present CREATION'S BIRTHDAY, by Hasan Padamsee, a new play about Hubble, Einstein and the expanding universe. The performance will be at the Ramsey Auditorium on July 5th at 5 pm. Doors open at 4.50 pm. All Fermilab employees and companions are welcome at NO CHARGE. A short description: How did boxing champ, war-hero, and prodigy astronomer, Edwin Hubble gang up with a moon-shine-peddling janitor and a Jesuit priest to defeat the champion of science, Albert Einstein? Requests now Accepted for On-Site Housing for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013
The Fermilab Housing Office is now taking requests for reservations for houses, apartments, and dormitory rooms for the remainder of 2012 and the spring of 2013. Please submit your request for reservations to the Housing Office by Monday, July 16. For more information, please contact the Housing Office at (630)840-3777 or housing@fnal.gov. Collider New Play Project, July 7, 14 and 21
Beginning July 7, the Fox Valley Repertory will present its 2012 Collider New Play Project, a collaboration among playwrights and Fermilab scientists. Every Saturday (July 7, 14 and 21), at 1 p.m. at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, a different playwright will present a staged reading of a new play that helps us better understand the universe and who we are, while illuminating and celebrating the worlds of art, science and technology. Developing Circuit Design Applications with National Insturment's Multisim course offered July 19

Martial Arts Classes June 25
Kyuki-Do is a Korean martial art similar to Taekwondo. The next Fermi Kyuki-Do Martial Arts session begins on June 25. New students are always welcome. Classes are held for six weeks on Monday and Wednesdays from 5 - 6pm at the Recreation Facility in the Village. You need to register for the class through the Recreation Office, the cost is $55.00. You do not need a gym membership to join this class. I will supply a free uniform to students who have never participated in a martial art. My class is limited to ten students.

10,000 Steps Weekly Participant Winner
Congratulations to Hema Ramamoorthi. Hema is an active participant in the Just Walk 10,000 Steps-A-Day program and is the winner of this week's drawing for a Resistance Band Exercise Kit. Project Management Introduction class scheduled in July
Learn to: Identify steps required to effectively and efficiently manage a project; Iniatiate, plan, schedule, evaluate, control, and lead projects to meet time, cost and xperformance objectives; Apply the principles of good team leadership; Recognize common snags and pitfalls that occur in projects and determine the best ways to anticipate them, avoid them or minimize their impact if they do occur; Analyze current project management practices and recommend improvements. Scottish country dancing cancelled June 12, moves to Auditorium June 19
Scottish country dancing is cancelled Tuesday, June 12. The group will move for the summer to the stage of Ramsey Auditorium, where they will dance weekly beginning Tuesday,June 19, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The group is taught by Doug Jensen. Most dances are walked through and newcomers are always welcome. No need to come with a partner! International Folk Dancing in barn on June 7, Ramsey Auditorium through rest of June
International folk dancing will meet in the barn on June 7 and then will move for the summer to the stage of Ramsey Auditorium where the group will meet weekly beginning Thursday, June 14 (except for the first Thursday of July and August back in the barn). After-hours shuttle trial extended through June
The experimental after-hours shuttle service will end its extended trial at the end of June. Every Wednesday and Friday at 5:15 p.m. a taxi leaves from the horseshoe in front of Wilson Hall and stops at SiDet, CDF, DZero and the Users' Center. Fermilab Prairie Quadrat Study
Help us gather valuable data on prairie plant populations. It's not difficult. With a little practice, you will be able to use our equipment to identify prairie plants, map a prairie plot and enter your data in our website. Fermi Pool Hours: Tuesday, June 5 – Sunday, Aug. 26. Tuesday-Friday: Noon–7 pm. Saturday-Sunday: 1–6 pm. Pool membership is open to Fermilab employees, retirees, visiting researchers, contractors, employees of the DOE office at Fermilab, and their immediate families living in the same household. Memberships are not transferable and are non-refundable. Single Membership is $100.00. Family Membership is $230.00 (up to 4 family members). Additional Family Members are $40.00. Children age 2 and under free. Memberships sold in the Wellness Office of Wilson Hall, 15 West, Monday-Friday.

The Fermilab Management Practices Seminar (FMP) provides new supervisors and managers with the essential tools for effective leadership and management. It also provides experienced supervisors and managers with the opportunity to update and renew their management skills.
