Embedded Design with LabVIEW FPGA and CompactRIO class scheduled - Feb. 23

"5 Treasures" Qigong for Stress Relief begins Jan. 23
"Five Treasures" is a short, easy to learn, set of Qigong exercises. Specific attention on coordination of breath, posture and intention. This is a more in-depth approach compared to the drop-in classes on Wednesday and Friday. Muscle Toning class begins Jan. 24

January 2012 timecards - float holiday during the month of January in the Kronos timecard is unable to populate the 2012 floating holiday. You will be able to select and record your floating holiday beginning Feb. 1. If you are going to use your 2012 floating holiday in Jan. please e-mail the Payroll Manager at lsmith@fnal.gov before you complete your timecard, so that a manual entry of the hours can be set up.
NALWO - Volunteers needed for English conversation
NALWO is looking for volunteers who are interested to teach English or converse in English with Fermilab visitors and/or their family members. Currently the classes are held once or twice a week in the User's Center. NALWO - Luncheon and tour on Jan. 26
Tour the Saint Charles Library art collection in St. Charles and lunch at Bistro 1 West; tour starting 11 am in the St. Charles Library: 1 S. Sixth Ave. The St. Charles Library is an Andrew Carnegie Library. The vast art collection was accumulated from various donations over the last 100 years. This art collection has WPA art as well as sculptures and all medium of paintings. Bistro 1 West: 12:30 pm, 1 West Illinois St., St. Charles. Tax Presentation for Users and Visitors
The UEC will host a tax presentation for users on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 1 pm in WH 1 West, and streamed live to Argonne. KPMG will discuss US residency for tax purposes, taxation of different types of income, double taxation treaties, and more. The session will build on information presented last year by KMPG, but be more targeted to Fermilab and Argonne users. At the end, there will be a Q&A, and Fermilabs Visa Office will provide information about a new online tax software system that will be available to some Fermilab users to help determine tax residency and prepare certain tax filings.
