Moment of silence in honor of young visiting scientist

We are saddened by the loss of a member of the Fermilab family. We extend our condolences to the parents and colleagues of the young visiting scientist who died at Fermilab on Thursday morning. We are grateful for the many expressions of support we have received.

Maria Beloyvan, a 24-year-old visiting scientist from Russia, died yesterday morning. We will observe a minute of silence Friday, May 7, at 10:50 a.m. in honor of our colleague.

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office investigation is ongoing, but police have found no evidence of foul play.
