Fermilab dancers perform at Museum of Science and Industry, Sat. Dec. 4, 4 p.m.
Fermilab folk dancers, under the name of Y Ddraig Goch (Red Dragon) Welsh dancers, will perform a program of Welsh traditional dance and song, along with live music by Old Fezziwig's Band, for the Cambrian Benevolent Society's presentation at Christmas Around the World at the Museum of Science and Industry, at 4 p.m. Saturday, December 4. The program is open to the public and free with museum admission. Is Your iPod Affecting Your Hearing? Dec. 8
Feel free to bring your lunch and join us for this free lunch and learn seminar on Wednesday, Dec. 8, in Wilson Hall Curia II, from Noon - 1 p.m. Do you exercise listening to your iPod? Have you been having difficulty hearing lately? Are you around loud noises at work? At home? Bring your iPod to test for safe listening levels. English country dancing this Sunday, Dec. 5
English country dancing will meet this Sunday, Dec. 5, at Kuhn Village Barn. The afternoon starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 until 5 p.m., and will feature dances and music with a holiday theme. Newcomers are always welcome. The first dance of 2011, Jan 9, will focus on dances for the New Year's Ball weekend on Jan 15-16, and on Sunday, Feb. 6, there will be live music by Old Fezziwig's Band. Node registration unavailable Dec. 2
On Thursday, Dec. 2 at 9 a.m. network maintenance will begin in order to switch to a new product. At this time, the node registration service will be unavailable. Maintenance will continue on Monday, Dec. 6 from 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and then again on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 6:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. Node registration will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 7. This work should be transparent to the majority of people. If you experience network problems during this time, please contact the Fermilab Service Desk by calling (630) 840-2345.

Submit a topic suggestion for Disability Awareness Seminar
Unity Coat, Fermilab Disability Awareness Group, is seeking new seminar topics, speakers, and members. Past topics have included Spinal Cord Injury, Elder Care, Osteoarthitis, Americans with Disabilities Act, Autism, Fibromyalgia, Down Syndrome, and Bullying. Collaborative efforts included a summer safety presentation with the Fermilab Medical Office, an emergency evaucation bookmark with ES&H, and two seminars on Nuerological Brain Disorders with the Wellness Committee. It also sponsors the Needles & Threads project for cancer awareness. For additional information contact kjohnson@fnal.gov.

Scrappers Club meets Dec. 7
Do you like to scrapbook? Join other scrappers on Tuesday, Dec. 7 in WH15W Aquarium. Stop by between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Allow 45-60 minutes. $10/person. Fermilab Arts Series presents "A Celtic Christmas"
Tomáseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas recreates the joy and innocence of a night before Christmas in a farmhouse in the remote parish in the west of Ireland, when the neighbors gather around the fire to grace the long wintry night with the laughter of their stories, the joy of their music, and dances they always said they were much too old for. Fermilab Today holiday schedule
Fermilab Today will not publish on Nov. 25 and 26 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The last issue of Fermilab Today in 2010 will appear on Tuesday, Dec. 21. Fermilab Today will resume publication on Monday, Jan. 3.

Folk Dancing cancelled Nov.25, resumes weekly Thursdays in Dec.
Fermilab International Folk Dancing will not meet on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 25, but will resume at Kuhn Village Barn and meet every Thursday through Dec. 23. Dancing begins at 7:30 p.m., with dances for children and teaching early in the evening and request dancing later on. Newcomers are always welcome. Free Martial Arts Class Dec. 15
There will be a free one-hour trial class of Kyuki-Do, a Korean martial art, on Dec. 15 at 5:00pm in the gym at the Recreations Center. You well learn basic stretches and exercises, kicks and punches, and some self defense. We will demonstrate some advanced techniques and forms. Please wear lose, comfortable clothes, and be prepared to work up a little sweat. Annual potluck party and skits Dec. 17
Fermilab will host its second annual winter skit and potluck party Dec. 17. A potluck dinner will take place in the Wilson Hall atrium from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Employees, users and contractors and their families are welcome. Those attending the potluck should bring enough food to share with 20 people. After dinner from 7 to 9 p.m., employees and users will showcase their talents through skits, songs and soothing melodies.

Symposium celebrates 25th anniversary of first collision at Tevatron Dec. 17
A series of talks from 1:00 to 4:45 p.m. Dec. 17 in Ramsey Auditorium will highlight the construction of the Tevatron and the scientific successes acheived with its consistently improving luminosity. The talks are open to all.

Fermilab Blood Drive December 20 & 21 (Walk in only)
Fermilab Blood Drive Aug. 30 and 31 (Walk in only) Heartland Blood Centers will take donations in the Wilson Hall ground floor NE Training Room Dec. 20 9-2 p.m. and 21 8-1 p.m. This drive will be walk-in only for whole blood donations. Users Office Holiday Hours
The Users office will be closed on Nov. 25 and 26 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Users office will be closed on Dec. 23, 24, 30 and 31 for the Christmas Holiday. If you need an ID renewal during that time, please make it a point to come to our office before the days listed above. Normal Users Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm. If you need a rental car from Pilot’s Leasing, and did not reserve one in advance, please visit the communications office located on the ground floor of the Wilson Hall, next to the Key and ID Office.

Accelerate to a Healthy Lifestyle Program through Dec. 31
ES&H is rolling out its 2nd annual "Accelerate to a Healthy Lifestyle" program which kicks off Oct. 1. The event will run from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31. The goal is to exercise three days per week for 30 minutes. Pedestrian Safety Awareness for Families
"Safe Journey" is an interactive pedestrian safety program designed for families. Follow John as he walks from home to a bus stop to go to a soccer field accross town, he returns home after nightfall. Take a walk with John and help him decide how to handle some tricky safety situations. Our new series of four tango classes and new Choreography class starts November 10, with instructors Daniel Noce and Ramona Nita. Bring your lunch and join us for 45 minutes in the Wilson Hall 7th Floor Racetrack Thursday, Dec. 2 starting at 12:05. In Toastmaster, you will learn self-growth, how to plan and relax, how to present an idea as to whether you have time to prepare or just 10 seconds.
