Submit an announcement

Submit timecards today
Due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, we ask that employees and supervisors submit and approve timecards for this week as early as possible. The deadline for submitting and approving timecards has been pushed back to Tuesday, Sept. 7. But if possible, please submit and/or approve timecards today, Sept. 3. Timecards must be submitted by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday and approved by noon.

Reduced parking behind Ramsey Auditorium -- Sept. 7-17
The row of parking spaces adjacent to Wilson Hall's Ramsey Auditorium will be closed from Sept. 7-17 for concrete curb replacement.

Pine Street closures scheduled this week
Inbound Pine Street will close to all traffic Sept. 1, starting at 10 a.m., due to culvert repairs. The street will remain closed until completion of the repairs, scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 2. Both inbound and outbound Pine Street will be closed overnight between Sept. 1 and 2. Outbound Pine Street will close for similar culvert repairs at 7 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 3. Pine Street will reopen late on Friday, weather permitting, upon completion of the project.

Heartland blood drive total was 90 lifesaving units of blood!
Thanks so much to all the caring and sharing individuals that made the Fermi blood drive so successful. Argentine Tango, Wednesdays through September 29
Our new series of four tango classes starts Wednesday, September 8, with instructors Daniel Noce and Ramona Nita. Classes are held each Wednesday in Ramsey Auditorium, Class dates: September. 8, 15, 22, 29. Junior Prairie Rangers - Saturday, Sept. 18
Join Fermilab's new club and become a Junior Prairie Ranger. Learn about the prairie community and participate as a prairie steward in activities throughout the year. Looking for league bowlers
The Combined FermiLab & Nicor Wednesday Night bowling league (FERMTHERM’s) is looking for a few bowlers (or complete teams). This is a sanctioned mixed league with both Fermilab & NICOR employees + friends. Bowling starts at 5:30 p.m. Cost: $15/week includes bowling and prize funds. Regal Movie Theater discount tickets available
The Recreation Department now has Regal Movie Theater Discount Tickets available. Regal Theaters recently purchased the AMC Cantera 30 in Warrenville. Other Regal locations include Bolingbrook Stadium 12, Lake Zurich 12 and Crystal Lake Showplace Stadium 16. We have $8 unrestricted tickets and $7 restricted use tickets available. IMAX and 3D are subject to a surcharge at the theater.

Fermilab Lecture Series Presents A Croc Odyssey: Speedy Gallopers with a Taste for Dinosaur
The Lecture Series kicks off with a talk by Paleontologist Dr. Paul Sereno, University of Chicago. Follow the expeditions that discovered a menagerie of new extinct crocs. Meet colossal SuperCroc, fearsome BoarCroc, agile DogCroc and bizarre DuckCroc, as Sereno paints a vivid picture of these extinct African castaways and tangles with their living descendants to unravel the evolutionary story. Sereno’s latest discovery is a site dating back to a time before the pyramids some 10,000 years ago, these people inhabited a “Green Sahara” that was home to 6-foot long perch,crocs and hippos. Family Science Time - Saturday, Sept. 25
This special family science adventure is for children in grades 1-7 and their parents. You don't need to be an expert to help your children explore their world through science! Engaging hands-on stations, projects, puzzles, demonstrations and more will keep you exploring many science subjects. Take home resources, projects and a science toy. Scottish country dancing in Ramsey Auditorium through Aug. 31
Silk and Thistle Scottish Country Dancing will hold the last two summer meetings in Ramsey Auditorium on Tuesdays, Aug 24 and 31, and then return to Kuhn Village Barn after Labor Day, beginning Sept. 7. Dancing starts each Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Most dances are walked through and newcomers are always welcome. Fermilab Blood Drive Aug. 30 and 31 (Walk in only)
Heartland Blood Centers will gladly take donations in the Wilson Hall ground floor NE Training Room Aug. 30 9-2 p.m. and 31 8-1 p.m. This drive will be walk-in only for whole blood donations. Toastmasters - Sept. 2
Bring your lunch and join us in the Wilson Hall 7th Floor Racetrack Thursday, Sept. 2 at noon. Bod Squad Muscle Toning begins Sept. 2
