Cafeteria closed Saturday, May 29
The Fermilab Cafeteria will be closed Saturday, May 29, for the Memorial Day weekend.

Behavioral interviewing
This course is targeted to hiring managers and supervisors; group leaders involved in the hiring process. The objective of the "Behavioral Interviewing" course is to instruct you how to hire new employees who have a high probability of success by using behavior-based interviewing techniques.

Earned Value Management (EVMS) - June 7&8
Learn how the essential elements of the EVMS guidelines will be implemented on major projects. This course will provide the student with opportunities to work problems that reinforce the basic EVMS concepts. This 2-day course explains the Earned Value Management (EVMS) requirements as applied to the Department of Energy projects. The EVMS requirements of DOE Order 413.3 represent a disciplined project management approach for establishing an integrated baseline plan against which project schedule and cost performance is measured during the execution phase. Lecture Series: Intermediate/Advanced Topics in C++
A series of six lectures will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Monday, June 7 in Wilson Hall Curia II from 1:00PM to approximately 3:30PM. Each talk is designed as a professional development experience emphasizing effective computer programming in modern standard C++ (“C++03”) or in next-generation C++ (“C++0X”). Although the format is lecture-based, there will be considerable flexibility for interaction regarding any points of special interest to attendees. There is no cost to attend.

Diversity Office volunteer opportunity May 25-June 8
The Fermilab Diversity Office has a volunteer opportunity. Items are needed for a medical outreach trip to the Amazon River Basin. Needed items include: Used sunglasses for men, women and children; pacifiers; toothbrushes; fishing line (15-20 lb. test) and hooks; individually wrapped candy, such as lollipops, Tootsie rolls, Sweet Tarts, etc.; Ibuprofen (such as Advil) and Tylenol (400 mg and 800 mg); multivitamins; antacids (such as Tums); and bandages and antibiotic ointments (such as Bandaids and Neosporin). Please bring any of the above items you'd like to donate to Elaine Phillips on the 8th floor, west side of Wilson Hall.

Weekly time sheets due Friday
Due to the upcoming Memorial Day holiday, weekly time sheets are due in Payroll by 10 a.m on Friday May 28.

Project Scheduling and Earned Value Management Systems May 26-27
The "Project Scheduling and Earned Value Management Systems" workshop is intended for individuals who need to understand the principles of Scheduling and Earned Value in the management of projects. It introduces the principles of Scheduling and the Earned Value Management System, you will gain an understanding of the schedule development process, learn how to develop and calculate a network, learn the basic principles to organize, plan, authorize, monitor, and control a project. Walk Your Way to Fitness. Register for our 10,000 Steps Per Day Walking Program. 43rd Fermilab Users Meeting Registration June 2 - 3

SciTech summer camps start June 14
