Outdoor Soccer League begins May 4
Outdoor Soccer League will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m., beginning May 4 through September at the Village Soccer Field. All levels are welcome. League is open to all adult Fermilab employees, retirees, visitors, interns and contractors. Soccer League Representative is Dr. O'Sheg Oshinowo. Argentine Tango each Wednesday, May 5 to May 26
Our new series of four tango classes starts Wednesday, May 5 with instructors Daniel Noce and Ramona Nita. Class dates: May 5,12,19,26. Level 1: Basic I & II: 7:00 to 8:00 PM (Practice - 6:30 p.m.) Level 2: Intermediate/Adv.: 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.(Practice - 10:00 p.m.) Pricing for class levels: Regular/Student, Attending single level 1 OR 2 (4 class set): $60/$50; Attending both Levels 1 and 2 (4 class set): $85/$80; Individual classes: $18/$15. Muscle Toning by Bod Squad begins May 6
Muscle Toning classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 6 - June 29 at the Recreation Facility Exercise Room. Fee is $77/person. Get a head start in getting fit and have fun doing it. Gain strength, lean body mass and increase muscle definition with these strength training classes. All Fermilab Village and Sauk Circle Residents outage May 8
On Saturday, May 8, another power outage will occur, affecting the entire village. We realize the last outage was just 2 weeks ago, but a serious risk to the entire power grid for the Village now exists. It must be corrected immediately. The power outage will begin at 7:30 a.m. this Saturday, May 8, and last 4 to 8 hours. It should not last as long as the previous outage.

National Lab Day 2010
National Lab Day is a nationwide movement to support science, technology, engineering and math education in our schools by connecting teachers with working professionals. This connection will bring more hands-on, inquiry-based lab experiences to students. Fermilab's celebration of National Lab Day will take place the week of May 3-7. Join Fermilab in supporting National Lab Day by volunteering for opportunities in our community. Barn Dance May 9
The Fermilab Folk Club presents a Barn Dance on Sunday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kuhn Village Barn with traditional Illinois music by White Mule and calling by Lynn Garren & Dave Harding. Martial Arts Classes begins May 10
Kyuki-Do is a Korean martial art similar to Taekwondo. The next Fermi Kyuki-Do Martial Arts session begins on May 10. I will teach you how to kick, punch, block, throw and fall, and basic self defense. Classes are held for six weeks on Monday and Wednesdays from 5 - 6 p.m. at the Recreation Facility in the Village. You need to register for the class through the Recreation Office. The cost is $55.00. You do not need a gym membership to join this class. I will supply a free uniform to students who have never participated in martial arts before. My class size is limited to eight students.

NALWO Children's Playgroup International Party May 14
NALWO Children's Playgroup upcoming "International Party", will be held on Friday, May 14, at Fermilab's Kuhn Barn, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. Please plan to come and enjoy: Presentation of different countries' backgrounds, culture, nature, history and much more, International food samples, Dance demonstrations and teaching by the Fermilab International Folk Dancers, Activities for kids. English country dancing Sunday, May 16
English country dancing will meet on Sunday, May 16, at Kuhn Village Barn. The afternoon starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 until 5 p.m. There will be a potluck supper afterwards. Newcomers are always welcome. Pool Memberships Available Now
Fermilab Pool Memberships are now being sold in the Recreation Department, Wilson Hall 15 West. Individual Membership is $85. Family Memberships (up to 4) are $190, additional family members are $10. Pool is tentatively scheduled to open June 8.

NALWO Spring Tea May 20
NALWO - FERMI NATIONAL ACCELERATOR LABORATORY WOMEN’S ORGANIZATION - Please come to NALWO’s spring tea, hosted by Barbara Oddone at her home, Site #29, just inside the Wilson Street gate. Fermilab IDs are no longer required to enter the lab, but you will need photo identification. You may come in at the Wilson Street entrance (from Kirk Road) and turn right at the driveway just beyond the gate. Thursday, May 20, 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Please bring a favorite dessert or appetizer from your country, but if you cannot bring a treat, please come anyway! SciTech summer camps start June 14
From June 14 to July 30, SciTech Hands-on Museum in downtown Aurora will offer 24 one-week camps for children, including the popular camps "Totally ballistic!" and "Kitchen Chemistry" as well as the new "Wild Weather Wonders" camp. Fermilab Arts Series Presents Leo Kottke May 8
Acoustic guitar legend Leo Kottke appears as part of the Fermilab Arts Series on Saturday, May 8 at 8 p.m., Ramsey Auditorium. “My music is maybe hard to categorize,” Kottke allows. “It doesn’t fit conveniently into the bins at record stores. That works for me, though... I don’t rise and fall with trends. Most listeners seem to have room for this stuff. It’s been great that way.” With more than 10 solo albums to his credit, Over the years, Kottke has worked in the studio and shared stages with everyone from Lyle Lovett, John Fahey, T-Bone Burnett and Rickie Lee Jones, to Paco de Lucia. Fermilab Arts Series Presents Corky Siegel and Chamber Blues June 26
Is it blues, is it classical? Walking the line between Beethoven and B.B. King and armed with the creative genius and instrumental prowess that have defined his career for nearly four decades, blues harmonica player, and part of the Siegel/Schwall Band, Corky has pioneered an original, genre-busting Chamber blues - a fresh, innovative sound capturing the sparkling qualities of classical music merged with the emotional melodic style of blues, all within an intimate chamber setting. Under Corky's lead, The West End String Quartet and percussionist Frank Donaldson complete the Chamber Blues Band. National Day of Prayer observance May 6
An observance of the 59th annual National Day of Prayer will be held from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, in the Wilson Hall "Darkside" conference room which is in the northwest corner of the 6th floor. We will read the Presidential Proclamation and have volunteers pray for our nation and laboratory for no more than 5 minutes each.
