Submit an announcement

PII training required for all employees
All Fermilab employees must complete a one-time training course on how to protect personally identifiable information. The 15-minute course explains how to handle PII that employees may come across in trip reports, resumes, databases, etc. To take the training, go to the TRAIN class schedule page at http://www-esh.fnal.gov/pls/default/class_sched.html. Enter your employee ID, select the training category "Computing" and click "Submit." Next, click on "Protecting Personal Information at Fermilab." Then click on "Go to Online Test and hit "Request Test". You'll receive an e-mail with links and instructions.

2010 standard mileage reimbursement rate
The Internal Revenue Service and the General Services Administration have issued the 2010 standard mileage reimbursement rate for non Government owned vehicles. On-site housing for summer 2010 - now taking requests
The Fermilab Housing Office is now taking requests for houses, apartments and dormitory rooms for the summer. Please submit your request for reservations to the Housing Office by Monday, March 8. Requests can be made for any period and need not commence on any particular date. Contact the Housing Office at (630)840-3777 or housing@fnal.gov. Individual housing requests can be made by using our online form. Requests for multiple housing units are best handled by direct e-mail to housing@fnal.gov.

Introduction to Argentine Tango Series of Classes - FREE
If you have ever wanted to try Argentine Tango, this is your chance for Free. For the month of February, in addition to the regular tango series, Daniel Noce and Ramona Nita will offer a series of 4 Introduction to Argentine Tango classes for FREE!!! The series will run Wednesday evenings, February 3, 10, 17, and 24, from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. in Ramsey Auditorium. Qi Gong, Mindfulness and Tai Chi Easy for Stress Reduction
This is a FREE weekly wellness class in moving meditation practices for vitality, wellness and stress reduction. We practice gentle movement, breath awareness, self-applied massage, and relaxation practice with guided meditation and visualization to foster higher immune system function, reduce reactivity, and activate internal healing resources. This is not a formal, martial Tai Chi class – but may serve as an introduction to the structured forms. Ongoing Fridays beginning Feb. 5, 12:00 p.m to 12:45 p.m., Wilson Hall Auditorium. Fermilab Blood Drive Feb. 15 and 16
Fermilab will host a Heartland Blood Centers blood drive February 15, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and February 16, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Hall Ground Floor NE Training Room. BLAST! The Movie: intro, film and Q&A - Feb. 19
Don't miss this ground-breaking documentary by Paul Devlin about his brother's experiment in Arctic Sweden. BLAST -Balloon-borne, Large Aperture, Sub-millimeter Telescope. BLAST is designed to gather information on how our universe evolved by collecting the very faint sub-milimeter light from thousands of the earliest galaxies ever detected. To see these celestial births, the telescope must go through a risky launch on a NASA high-altitude balloon and float above the atmosphere for several days before it lands in Arctic Canada. Muntu African Dance Theatre - Feb. 6
Fermilab's Arts and Lecture Series will host Muntu African Dance Theatre at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6. Muntu Dance Theatre researches and performs authentic and progressive interpretations of contemporary and ancient African and African-American dance, music, and folklore. A colorful and dynamic company, Muntu brings its audiences out of their seats and into the aisles with its unique synthesis of dance, rhythm and song. African drumming helps to make the Muntu experience unique. Tickets are $26 for adults and $13 for individuals 18 and under. International folk dancing, Thursdays at Kuhn Village Barn

Scottish Country dancing Tuesdays at Kuhn Village Barn

English country dancing Feb. 7, with live music
English country dancing will meet on Sunday, February 7, at Kuhn Village Barn. The afternoon starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2-5 p.m. There will be live music by Old Fezziwig's Band and a potluck supper afterwards. Applications accepted for awards in URA Visiting Scholars program
Universities Research Association, Inc. (URA) has announced a deadline of Feb. 19 for the submission of applications for the spring 2010 cycle of awards in the URA Visiting Scholars Program at Fermilab. Successful applicants will be notified at the end of March. These awards provide financial support for faculty and students from URA's 87 member universities to work at Fermilab for periods of up to one year. URA makes two rounds of awards each year, in the spring and fall. The application deadline for the fall 2010 cycle will be in August. Successful applicants will be notified in September. Our new series of 4 tango classes starts Wed., Feb 3 with Daniel Noce & Ramona Nita. Classes run each Wed. thru Feb. 24 at Ramsey Auditorium. Class set, $60.00 per person or $18.00 per class - Pay first day of class. Basic I & II Classes – 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Intermediate & Adv.
