An employee of 18 years, Moore spent most of her career working on data acquisition systems for the fixed target experiments and more recently on SAM database development for Run II. While working on the data acquisition systems, Moore served as an online liaison. "She was the main interface between the Computing Division and designated fixed target experiments," said Margaret Votava, a member of the Computing Division who worked closely with Moore. "She was extremely conscientious and very interested in helping the experiments." Eileen Berman, of the Computing Division, described Moore as a very pleasant and positive person. "She was one of the most positive people I had ever met. She was always willing to help," Berman said.

Moore, who started as a summer intern at Fermilab in 1982, dedicated a lot of her time to working with students and served as a mentor in the Graduate Engineering for Minorities program and the Summer Internships in Science and Technology for Minority Students program. "She was very strong in mentoring other students. Every year kids would come through," Votava said. Moore was a very active member of her church and a foster parent to two young children.

Visitation will be today from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gatlins Funeral Home, 10133 S. Halsted in Chicago. The funeral will be on Saturday, March 27, at Pretlow and Son, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, Virginia. Flowers are welcome; contact Eileen Berman if you would like to make a contribution.
