Fermilab Board Game Guild
The Fermilab Board Game Guild meets every Tuesday at the User's Center from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Everyone is welcome, and no connection with Fermilab is required. Board games played include, but are not limited to, Puerto Rico, Ticket To Ride, Seven Wonders, Stone Age, Attica, Alhambra, Citadels, and many more. Fermilab Lecture Series presents Visualizing the Future of Biomedicine - Sep.18 at 8pm
Huge computing advances have created the need to make corresponding progress in our ability to understand large amounts of information arising from multiple sources. To understand and use the vast amounts of information being produced is one of the greatest scientific challenges of the 21st Century. Visual computing, which takes advantage of the interplay among techniques of visualization, large-scale computing, data management, and imaging, is fundamental to understanding models of complex phenomena, which are often multi-disciplinary in nature. Fermilab Arts Series presents 10,000 Maniacs!
The marvelous closing (Hey Jack Kerouac) sent the crowd away feeling fulfilled and elated to spend the Saturday night with 10,000 Maniacs. It is not often music fans have the opportunity to experience an influential band such as 10,000 Maniacs in such an intimate setting. It can not be understated the impact the band had on Alternative Rock during the 1980s, and thankfully their legacy still continues all these years later. – Cryptic Rock. Join us for 10,000 Maniacs. Bible exploration group starting new study called "Live Justly" September 8

New Line Dancing Class
A new Line Dancing class will be offered on Tuesdays, September 8 - October 27 in the Upper Level of Kuhn Barn from 11:30am - 12:15pm. Fee is $65. Register by September 1st in the Wellness Office, WH15W. For more information contact Jeanne at jecker@fnal.gov or x2548.

Walk 2 Run on Thursdays
This FREE 10-week program will teach you to run, improve your fitness, and assist you in losing weight and lowering cholesterol. Week One will consist of running 2 minutes and walking 4, repeated 5 times. Your running potential will gradually increase each week. Week Ten will consist of a 30 minute continuous run. You are welcome to join us regardless of age, speed or level of experience. Wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothes. Bring water. Minimum 6 participants/session. Walk 2 Run will be held on Thursdays, August 27 – October 29 from 4:45 – 5:30pm. We will depart from outside WH East Side Entrance. Pine Street Road Closing this Sunday, 8/23/15 from 6:00am to 6:00pm
This Sunday, 8/23/15, Pine Street INBOUND and OUTBOUND lanes from Kirk Rd to Rd A2 will be closed from 6:00am to 4:00pm to perform culvert repairs. All personnel will be rerouted to use Wilson Rd entrance during this time.

English country dancing Sunday, August 23, at Kuhn Barn
English country dancing will be held Sunday, August 23, at Kuhn Village Barn. The program starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 to 5 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome to join this social and accessible sort of dancing. We will dance to beautiful recorded music. Next month's dance, on September 27, will feature live music by Old Fezziwig's Band. The group meets monthly, year-round, and is looking forward to a special October weekend with the nation's most famous English dance musicians, Bare Necessities. Fermilab Prairie Plant Survey
Be a field scientist along with Fermilab docents to help monitor prairie restoration. Learn to identify plants, map a prairie quadrat, and gather data that will be used to help track the progress of the prairie. Join us on one or more of the following dates: Saturday, August 15, or Saturday, September 19, 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Fermilab Golf Outing
Fermi Golf League will host a Final Outing at Orchard Valley Golf Course, 2411 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora, on Fri., Sept. 11 at 7:30am. Shotgun start. "Shamble" format. Pick best drive of foursome. Contest holes, individual & team prizes. League handicaps or fun "blind" handicaps for those without a hdcp. Individuals or foursomes composed of Fermi employees, retirees, Users, active contractors, and immediate family are eligible. $55 (golf, cart, range, hot lunch, and contests). September AEM Meeting date change
The All Experimenters' Meeting in September will meet on Monday, September 14, 2015. This is a change from what was previously announced because Sept. 7th is Labor Day and a holiday at Fermilab. Please make a note of this new meeting date.

Call for proposals: URA Visiting Scholars Program - Deadline is Aug. 31
Universities Research Association Inc. has announced a deadline of Aug. 31st, for the submission of applications for the fall 2015 cycle of awards in the URA Visiting Scholars Program (VSP) at Fermilab. Award recipients will be notified by the end of September. These awards provide financial support for faculty and graduate students from URA's 89 member universities to work at Fermilab for periods of up to one year. URA makes two rounds of awards each year, in the spring and fall. The application deadline for the spring 2016 cycle is Feb. 29, 2016. Fermi Singers invite all visiting students and staff
The Fermilab Singers invite all visiting summer students, as well as regular staff, to join them in singing a variety of Madrigal and Modern vocal music each Wednesday from noon until 1pm on the Ramsey Auditorium stage in Wilson Hall. No prior experience or tryouts are necessary. All vocal parts (SATB) needed, (we will sort you if you don't know your vocal part!)
