Mac “Self Service” rollout Tuesday, July 7
Based on Accelerator Division’s successful program, the Core Computing Division will be rolling out a new Mac service called “Self Service”. This service will allow Mac users to install apps from an internal app store that offers a list of Fermilab apps as well as OS, security and application updates. As part of the rollout, we will be installing a new app called “Self Service” on all Fermilab-owned centrally managed Mac computers starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7. To use “Self Service”, you need to log in with your SERVICES account user name and password. User Center Entrance Repair on Sauk Blvd in the Village
The 2 entrances at the West end of the User Center Parking Lot off Sauk Boulevard will be closed for repair starting July 6, 2015, weather permitting. User Center visitors should use the entrance off Che Che Pinqua St. to enter and park in the lot. Work is expected to last several weeks.

Call for proposals: URA Visiting Scholars Program
Universities Research Association Inc. has announced a deadline of Aug. 31st, for the submission of applications for the fall 2015 cycle of awards in the URA Visiting Scholars Program (VSP) at Fermilab. Award recipients will be notified by the end of September. These awards provide financial support for faculty and graduate students from URA's 89 member universities to work at Fermilab for periods of up to one year. URA makes two rounds of awards each year, in the spring and fall. The application deadline for the spring 2016 cycle is Feb. 29, 2016. Commercializing Innovation: Office Hours at IARC
Thinking of Commercializing Your Research Idea? Representatives from the Chicago Innovation Exchange will host office hours at IARC on Wednesday, July 15, 1-3:30. Deadline Approaching for Fall 2015 / Spring 2016 onsite housing requests
The deadline draws near for requesting onsite accommodations for houses, apartments, and dormitory rooms for the remainder of 2015 and the spring of 2016. Please submit your request for reservations to the Housing Office by Monday, July 13, 2015. Requests can be made for any period and need not commence on any particular date. English country dancing Sunday, June 21, at Kuhn Barn, with live music
English country dancing will be held Sunday, June 21, at Kuhn Village Barn. There will be live music by Old Fezziwig's Band. The program starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 to 5 p.m. There may be a potluck supper following the dancing. Newcomers are always welcome to join this social and accessible sort of dancing. The group meets monthly, year-round, with live music usually every other month. International folk dancing moves to Ramsey Auditorium, meeting Thursday evenings through the summer
International folk dancing meets Thursday evenings from June 17 through September 3 in the air-conditioned comfort of Ramsey Auditorium in Wilson Hall. Dancing runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and newcomers are always welcome. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early and request dancing later on.
