Fermilab Today Announcements

Wilson Hall Air Conditioning Shutdown
The Air Conditioning system cooling the North half of Wilson Hall will be Shutdown starting at 5:00PM Friday 6/12 until Monday 6/15 at 7:00AM. All floors from Atrium Level to 15 Floor will be affected. This shutdown is required to facilitate functional maintenance on existing infrastructure. We apologize for any inconvenience this may create.

Thursday Yoga Registration Due June 18
The next session of Thursday Yoga will be held June 25- August 13 from 12-12:45pm in the Wilson Hall Ground Floor East Training Room. Fee is $60. Register in the Wellness Office, WH15W, by June 18. Whether you are new to Yoga or an experienced practitioner, this class will help you feel both energized and relaxed. Alignment-based poses and flowing movement combine to improve your flexibility, strength and balance. Please bring your own yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing. Wednesday Walkers
Need someone to walk with? Wednesday Walkers depart each Wednesday promptly at noon from outside the East Side entrance of Wilson Hall. Time, distance and speed are up to you. Walking Works Week 4 Winners
It's not too late to sign up for the WalkingWorks program, log your steps, and win prizes. Week 4 we have two Participation Drawing Winners. They are Maredith Stoffel and Kuldeep Mann. Congratulations to both of you. Keep up the good work! Winners should stop by the Wellness Office, WH15W, to pick up a prize. Weekly prize drawings will be held on Tuesdays. Barn Dance June 14
The Fermilab Folk Club presents a Barn Dance on Sunday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kuhn Village Barn with music by Just Us Chickens and calling by Dan Saathoff. Everyone is welcome. You don't need to know anything, just come and have fun! Admission is $6, children under 12 are free, 12 to 18 year olds and people over 65 are $3. art/LArSoft course at Fermilab Aug. 3 - 7: free registration
A course to introduce newcomers to art/LArSoft will take place at Fermilab, Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7. NALWO lecture: Beauty of Barns - June 16
A lecture on "Beauty of Barns" will be presented on Tuesday, 16 June, at 12:00 PM in the Wilson Hall Racetrack (7th floor crossover). Carol Rowe, a 5th generation Boone County native, will talk about the many types of barns in Illinois and Wisconsin. Refreshments will be served. Space is limited, so please RSVP by 15 June to NALWO@fnal.gov.

Fermilab Board Game Guild
The Fermilab Board Game Guild meets every Tuesday at the User's Center from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Everyone is welcome, and no connection with Fermilab is required. Board games played include, but are not limited to, Puerto Rico, Ticket To Ride, Seven Wonders, Stone Age, Attica, Alhambra, Citadels, and many more. Scottish country dancing meets Tuesday evenings at Kuhn Village Barn
Scottish country dancing is held Tuesday evenings through June 9 at Kuhn Barn and then will move to Ramsey Auditorium in Wilson Hall for the summer, starting June 16. Dancing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The group is taught by Doug Jensen. Newcomers are always welcome and are paired with experienced dancers -- no need to come with a partner. International folk dancing Thursday evenings at Kuhn Barn thru June 11, cancelled May 28
International folk dancing meets Thursday evenings through June 11 at Kuhn Barn , then moves for the summer to Ramsey Auditorium, starting June 18 and continuing weekly on Thursdays. There will be no meeting, however, on May 28. Dancing runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and newcomers are always welcome. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early and request dancing later on. English country dancing this Sunday, May 24, at Kuhn Barn
English country dancing will be held this Sunday, May 24, at Kuhn Village Barn. The program starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 to 5 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome to join this social and accessible sort of dancing. We will dance to beautiful recorded music. Next month's dance, on June 21, will feature live music by Old Fezziwig's Band. The group meets monthly, year-round. Fermilab Pool Open June 9th...Memberships Available
Pool open Tuesday, June 9-Sunday, August 16. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 12-7pm, Saturday & Sunday, 1-6pm. Closed Mondays. Pool membership open to Fermi employees, retirees, visiting researchers, contractors, onsite DOE employees, students & immediate families living in the same household. Memberships are not transferable and are non-refundable. Memberships are sold in the Wellness Office of WH15W, Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Single Membership $130. Family Membership $305 (up to 4 family members, additional family members over 4 are $55). Lifeguards do not sell memberships. They do sell daily passes. Daily Rate $8/person.
