GCC power outages April 7 and 8
The Core Computing Division will be carrying out required maintenance at the Grid Computing Center (GCC) which will require two extended power outages. See https://fermi.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0011575 for outage times and a list of affected services.

Players needed for 2015 Fermilab co-ed softball league
Several teams in the 2015 Fermilab co-ed softball league are looking for both male and female players. Games are played once a week in the Village on either Wednesday or Thursday from the beginning of May through early September, followed by a double-elimination playoff. Come out for the fun! No experience necessary. Contact league rep Chris Greer at cgreer@fnal.gov.

Mac OS X security patches to be enabled on Tuesday, March 31
On Tuesday, March 31, starting at 7 a.m., the Core Computing Division will enable several OS X updates for Mac computers running OS X Yosemite (10.10). Alerts announcing the availability of the security updates for a manual installation will appear on your screen. You can install these updates at a time that is convenient for you. These updates will require a restart. If you do not install the updates at this time, the automatic installation will begin on Tuesday, April 28

Indoor Soccer
Indoor Soccer is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Sundays from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the Gym at the Village. Gym membership is required. Please contact O'Sheg Oshinowo at Oshinowo@fnal.gov for more information.

Managing Conflict (am only) on June 10
This class is for individuals who want to boost their conflict management skills. Learn to accept and manage conflict more effectively. Upon completing this half day class, you will be able to identify your default conflict management style, how to capitalize on various conflict management styles, accept conflict as an inevitable part of all work situations, be aware of the positive and negative byproducts of conflict on the job, understand how to establish a cooperative atmosphere in which to resolve conflicts as they arise, and learn and practice a step-by-step collaborative approach to resolving conflict http://www-esh.fnal.gov/pls/default/schedule.show_course_details?cid=1865

Two-step and Waltz workshops Sunday, April 5, at Kuhn Barn
Noted dance historian Susan de Guardiola will present two workshops on Sunday, April 5 at Kuhn Barn. From # to 6 p.m., she will offer an introduction to Introduction to Ragtime and Two-step dance styles of the late 19th century and early 20th century. Then from 7 to 10 p.m. she will teach Cross Step Waltz, a review and new variations. The workshops are sponsored by the International folk and English country dance groups and are open to anyone, with no previous experience needed. $10 suggested donation per workshop. Fermilab Village Easter Egg Hunt April 8, with RSVP by April 1
All Fermilab children are invited to NALWO-Playgroup's Fermilab Village Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday, April 8, at 5 p.m. Check in is at the Music Room of the Users' Center by 5 p.m. sharp. There will be age-specific activities starting right after 5 p.m. Attendees should bring healthy snacks for sharing and an Easter basket to fill. Wilson Hall southwest stair work - temporary access restriction – March 25, 2015
Starting Wednesday, March 25 the Wilson Hall South West Stair will be temporarily closed at several floors while construction work is completed. The stairs at the closed floors will be available for emergency use only. Work in the stairs well is expected to be completed on Saturday, April 4, 2015.

Fermilab Board Game Guild
The Fermilab Board Game Guild meets every Tuesday at the User's Center from 6:00 PM to 10::PM. Everyone is welcome, and no connection with Fermilab is required. Board games playes include, but are not limited to, Puerto Rico, Ticket To Ride, Seven Wonders, Stone Age, Attica, Alhambra, Citadels, and many more. Pilates Registration Due March 30th
This Mat Pilates class is suitable for beginner and intermediate level participants. Pilates is an excellent way to reduce back pain, strengthen your core and increase flexibility. This class will focus on low impact floor exercises that target the deep muscles of the abdomen and spine. Some of the major benefits include improved posture, balance, core strength, flexibility and long, lean muscles without excess bulk. Sign up to strengthen that aching back, firm up that flabby belly and tone that drooping posterior. Not recommended for individuals with osteoporosis. Class will be held on Mondays, April 6–May 18, 12-12:45pm, in the Fitness Center Exercise Room. Fee is $87. For more info x2548.

MAC OS X security updates Tues., March 24
On Tues., March 24 from 7 a.m. the Core Computing Division is enabling OS X security updates for Mac computers running OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), Mavericks (10.9.5), and Yosemite (10.10.2). An alert will prompt installation or you can select "Software Update" in the Apple menu; no restart is required. If you do not install manually now, automatic install will start on Tuesday, April 14. If you experience any issues, please submit a Service Desk ticket.

Networking DNS Software Upgrade Tues., April 7
Between 7 a.m. 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, the Network Services team will be upgrading the Domain Name Service (DNS) server software. There should be no impact to the majority of users, or users who use AnyCast DNS (DNS server set to 131.225.0.254 in their DNS client systems). However, some users, those with manually configured or older network systems, may experience a networking outage of about 15 minutes within the maintenance window depending on their applications and the configuration of their servers. For assistance, please see the instructions for DNS settings for administrators at http://cdorg.fnal.gov/nvs/dns.php. Please submit a Service Desk ticket if you experience any issues or have any questions.

Nominations for Employee Advisory Group due April 17
Nominations are now being accepted for new members to serve on the EAG. The committee meets once per month and is regularly joined by several members of the senior management team. Fermilab benefits from the EAG's formal recommendations, which come after the EAG studies a topic, as well as the extensive discussions of complex issues. 2014 FSA Deadline is April 30
Employees with a 2014 Healthcare or Dependent Care Reimbursement Account must spend the remaining balance by the end of the plan year. Healthcare expenses to be reimbursed with the 2014 Health Care Reimbursement Accounts must be incurred by March 15, 2015. 2014 Dependent Care expenses must be incurred by December 31, 2014. Claims for both types of accounts must be submitted to the plan administrator, Payflex, by April 30, 2015. Employees submit flexible spending claims to PayFlex online at www.healthhub.com or via fax.

Interpersonal Communication Skills course - May 20
