Fermilab Arts & Lecture Series Presents Chicago Harp Quartet
The Fermilab Gallery Chamber Series kicks off on Sunday, January 11 at 2:30 with the Chicago Harp Quartet-reception follows. Since its formation in 2012, the Chicago Harp Quartet has presented unique and charismatic performances on the concert stage across the country. Harpists with the CHQ have performed with some of the world's greatest ensembles including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Minnesota Orchestra, and the symphonies of Baltimore, Milwaukee, Symphony, St. Louis and Toronto, just to name a few, as well as festivals such as Ravinia and Aspen. Wilson Hall Fire Alarm Testing December 13

Barn Dance December 14
The Fermilab Folk Club presents a Barn Dance on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kuhn Village Barn with music by the $8000 String Band and calling by Cheryl Joyal. Everyone is welcome. You don't need to know anything, just come and have fun! Admission is $6, children under 12 are free, 12 to 18 year olds and people over 65 are $3. Free Upper Body Blitz Class December 17
Gym membership not required for this open house class held in the Exercise Room at the Fitness Center from 12pm – 12:30pm on Wednesday, December 17. This Upper Body Blitz class targets the muscles of the chest, back, shoulders and arms allowing you to improve your overall upper body strength. FermiPoint (SharePoint 2013) outage Mon., Dec. 15 – Tues., Dec 16
The Web Services Administration group is installing new services in the SharePoint 2013 farm from Monday, Dec. 15 at 9:00 p.m. to Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7:00 a.m. FermiPoint, MyPoint and web.fnal.gov sites will not be accessible during this time. SharePoint 2010 will remain operational. If you experience access difficulties outside the maintenance period, please submit a Service Desk ticket.

Open House Abs Class on Dec. 15
This free 30-minute Abs Workout is designed to increase overall core strength and endurance. Gym membership not required. Gym will be open Monday, December 15, 12-12:30pm. For more information contact Jeanne in the Wellness Office at jecker@fnal.gov or x2548.

SharePoint online training videos available for on-site users
On-site users can access more than 900 SharePoint training videos online through the Fermilab Library’s subscription. Writing for Results: Email and More on February 27

Free 30-Minute Body Blitz Class Friday, December 12
Gym membership not required for this open house class held in the Exercise Room at the Fitness Center from 12pm – 12:30pm on Friday, December 12. This Body Blitz class is designed to increase strength and improve definition in all major muscle groups using hand weights and more. Kautz Road closed starting Dec. 10
Stating December 10, 2014, Kautz Road will be permanently closed between Booster East Road and Giese Road. The Indian Road Spur located between Kautz Road and Well Pond Road will also be closed. December School's Day Out
School's out Day Camp: Dec. 22, 23, 26, 29, 30 and Jan. 2. Childcare for school age children (7-12 years) will be offered at Kuhn Barn from 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., cost is $25.00 per camper/per day. Enrollment will be accepted until noon on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The program will be cancelled if less than 7 register. Campers will need to bring a lunch. A refrigerator and microwave are available. Beverage at lunch, morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Email daycare@fnal.gov to register.

Cashier's office closed during holidays
The Cashier's Office will close at 3 pm on December 19 and reopen at 1 pm on January 6, 2015.

New time for Pace Call-n-Ride departure from Fermilab starts Dec. 8
Effective Monday, Dec. 8, the Pace Batavia Call-n-Ride trip that operates from Fermilab to the Metra Geneva train station at 4:17 p.m. will depart five minutes earlier, at 4:12 p.m. The earlier 4:12 p.m. departure time will help improve schedule reliability. English country dancing Sunday afternoons, December 7 and January 4, at Kuhn Barn
English country dancing will be held Sunday, December 7, at Kuhn Village Barn. The program starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 to 5 p.m. We will be going over dances for our upcoming New Year's Ball weekend, Jan. 15-16, in St. Charles, with Earl Gaddis and Karen Axelrod. Newcomers are always welcome to join this social and accessible sort of dancing. The next dance is Sunday, January 4. The group meets monthly, year-round, with live music usually every other month. Fidelity town hall meetings this week
Effective Feb. 2, 2015, Fidelity will be the sole provider of retirement savings plan administration and record-keeping services These retirement plan changes will take a few months to implement. During this time you are invited to attend on-site town hall meetings and schedule a one-on-one appointment with a Fidelity consultant. A transition guide and schedule of events was mailed to your home in late November. Two meetings on international LBNF collaboration - Dec. 5, 12
The Fermilab directorate invites scientists to participate in one of two meetings on the proposed Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF), to be hosted by Fermilab. One is at CERN on Dec. 5 from 1-6 p.m. local time. The other is at Fermilab on Dec. 12 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. local time. An LBNF collaboration-forming process began this summer with the establishment of an interim International Executive Board, which drafted a letter of intent. Meeting attendees will discuss the LOI with the goal of developing an international collaboration of scientists interested in taking advantage of LBNF. https://web.fnal.gov/project/iiEB/Pages/iiEB-home.aspx
