Veterans Day celebration in Kuhn Barn - Nov. 11
FERMILAB VETERANS will host an event in honor of Veterans Day from 11:30am to 1:30pm on Tuesday November 11 in Kuhn Barn. All Veterans are welcome including Veterans of all Foreign Armed Forces. Catered by Corkey's Catering.Tickets are available for $5 per person and are available from Joe Morgan (jmorgan@fnal.gov, ext 4181)to pick up tickets or to reserve them at the door.Please respond ASAP. An accurate headcount is needed to insure food order. We have an impressive Order of Ceremony including Taps, the National Anthem, Color Guard and much more.

Yoga Thursdays
oga Thursdays will be held November 20, December 4, 11 & 18 in the Wilson Hall Ground Floor Training Room on the East Side from 12-12:45pm. International folk dancing newcomers' session beginning at 7 p.m. this Thursday 11/6 at Kuhn Barn
International folk dancing will begin exceptionally at 7 p.m. this Thursday, 11/6, with a special session for newcomers. Regularly the group begins at 7:30 p.m., every Thursday (except Thanksgiving), at Kuhn Barn. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early and request dancing later on. Barn Dance November 9
The Fermilab Folk Club presents a Barn Dance on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kuhn Village Barn with music by Edward & Jonathan and calling by Tony Scarimbolo. Everyone is welcome. You don't need to know anything, just come and have fun! Admission is $6, children under 12 are free, 12 to 18 year olds and people over 65 are $3. NALWO Visit to the Art Legacy of Nancy Carrigan, Saturday, Nov. 8, 3-5 p.m.
On Saturday, November 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. physicist Dick Carrigan, will to open his Warrenville home to NALWO members (and their spouses or guests) to give a tour of artwork and achievements of his recently deceased wife, Nancy. Advance reservations are needed; numbers will be capped at 40. The event is restricted to adults or appreciative and supervised children over 12. Wine, coffee/tea, and appetizers will be served. NALWO Playgroup meets Wednesdays, 5:15 at Users' Center
Parents with children ages 0 to 10 are welcome to join the NALWO Playgroup, which meets on Wednesday afternoons from 5:15-6:45 p.m. at the Users' Center. Playgroup provides an opportunity for socialization for both parents and children. For older children, there are games and arts and crafts projects. Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) on December 1 - 5, 2014 (PM only)
This training is an introduction to theory and rules; linear transformation to GD&T; Datum and datum features; 14 geometric symbols; Feature control frames; Analysis of measurement applications; and Global simplification of GD&T. In-depth analysis and implications of advanced principles; Optimization strategies in applications and analysis of design, manufacturing and measurement; Advanced tolerancing development; GD&T implications to six-sigma initiatives and product reliability. Broomball Open League
FBBL Broomball is an outdoor, year-round, all-weather (except lightning) sport� think field hockey but played with homemade "brooms" and a large tennis ball. Games are played on an open basis in the Village, either on the soccer field or the 'Blackhawk Glade' between Blackhawk Blvd and Shabonna St, depending on the number of players that day. Games are usually during lunch (12:15-12:45) but may include 5 o'clock games during warmer months. Silk and Thistle Scottish dancing celebrates 20 years at Fermilab at Kuhn Barn - Nov. 4
The Silk and Thistle Scottish country dance group will celebrate 20 years of Scottish dancing at Fermilab on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the usual time of 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Kuhn Barn. In addition, there are retirements, anniversaries, and birthdays in the group to mark. We will dance some favorites the group has had over the past 20 years. All are welcome, though there won't be too much dance teaching. Generally, newcomers are always welcome, and you need not come with a partner. Dances are taught and walked through, and there is occasional live music. Ramsey Auditorium horseshoe road closure beginning Nov. 3
The Auditorium horseshoe road will be closed to through traffic so that utility work can be performed. The road will be closed at the East end starting November 3. The duration of the closure is expected to be about 2 weeks. Access to the parking areas will be from the West entrance.

Computer Security Awareness Day 2014 - Nov. 11
Annual Computer Security Awareness Day 2014 - Tuesday, Nov. 11. Morning session will include ITNA-credit classes and PII training in WH1W and WH1E. English country dancing will hold a Halloween Party Sunday, October 26, at Kuhn Village Barn. There will be live music by Old Fezziwig's Band. The thematic program starts with dances for experienced dancers at 1 p.m., and dances for everyone from 2 to 5 p.m. Costumes and treats are encouraged. Newcomers are always welcome to join this social and accessible sort of dancing. The group meets monthly, year-round, and the next dance is Nov. 9. Wilson Fellowship Accepting Applications
The Wilson Fellowship at Fermilab seeks applications from Ph.D. physicists of exceptional talent with at least two (2) years of post-doctoral experience. The Fellowship supports strong, assistant professor-level physicists early in their careers. It provides unique opportunities for self-directed research in experimental physics through work on the Fermilab particle physics experiment of the candidate's choice.
