2013 FSA Claim Filing Deadline is April 30
Healthcare and Dependent care expenses to be reimbursed with the 2013 FSA Accounts must be submitted to PayFlex by April 30, 2014. Any flexible spending contributions remaining after the deadline are forfeited. Employees submit flexible spending claims to PayFlex online at www.healthhub.com or via fax. If it is your first time using the online system, the employee ID number is your Fermi ID number with no leading zero and no ‘N’. The Fermi group number is 121378. Employees can review a list of eligible expenses, view current balances and claims paid online at www.healthhub.com.

Take the train commuting survey by May 9
Fermilab is exploring the possibility of providing a daily shuttle to and from a nearby Metra Rail station for those commuting by train. The implementation of a shuttle depends on your feedback. Butts & Guts Open House Friday
Free trial class on Friday, April 25, 11:45am-12:30pm at the Fitness Center. No registration required. Gym will be open. New attendees will earn 10 AFL Bonus Points. Two sessions available on Wednesdays and or Fridays starting next week. Wednesdays, April 30–June 11, 11:45am–12:30pm at the Fitness Center Exercise Room. Fee is $55/person. Laboratory Directed Research and Development Information Session
Fermilab has instituted a LDRD program to support employee-initiated proposals that are novel and cutting edge and that explore the forefront of science and technology. William Wester, LDRD coordinator, will present an information session in Curia II on Wednesday, April 23, from 2-3 p.m. A repeat of the information session will be given in One East the following Tuesday, April 29, from noon-1 p.m. All are invited to attend and learn more about this new initiative at the lab. National Day of Prayer Observance - May 1
All are invited to a National Day Of Prayer observance on Thursday, May 1, from 12:00-12:30 in the "Racetrack" room on the Wilson Hall 7th floor crossover. Wilson Street Entrance Closed Starting May 5
The Wilson Street entrance to the Fermilab site will be closed starting May 5 for construction. It is scheduled to reopen on Monday May 18, weather permitting. Truck deliveries and employees will be re-routed to the Pine Street entrance.

Fermilab Lecture Series: Nigel Lockyer gives talk on April 25
On Friday, April 25, at 8 p.m., Fermilab Director Nigel Lockyer will give a lecture titled "Sticks and Stones, Particles and Batteries: Ben Franklin Would Be Pleased" in Ramsey Auditorium. Tickets are $7. Benjamin Franklin, ever inquisitive about how nature worked and how it affects us, would enjoy the science of particle physics of today and would be in wonder about how we got this far so fast. Lockyer will discuss will discuss this perpetual progress as it relates to particles, their applications as tools and the role of energy. Change in tax practice may affect some visitors
Beginning with the 2014 tax year, the Laboratory will no longer issue W-2 forms to non-employees (i.e. visitors on extended stay). Income and taxes withheld will be reported on IRS forms 1099 or 1042(S). Withholding amounts may also differ. General Accounting will send a memo with more information to the individuals affected.

Pre-retirement planning Lunch and Learn - April 23 and May 7
Retirement is one of the most challenging and exciting career milestones ahead for many of us. While you may not be contemplating retirement anytime soon, it’s important to prepare for it. For most people, a successful and comfortable retirement requires much advance planning. To help you start your planning, the WDRS Benefits office will offer a Lunch and Learn seminar on planning for retirement on April 23 and May 7, noon, in One West. Employees who attend will have the opportunity to learn all about their Fermilab retirement benefits. The sessions are open to all employees, whether they already planning to retire or are simply interested in gathering information.

Fermilab Time & Labor (FTL) URLs changing
Kronos, the vendor for the Fermilab Time & Labor (FTL) system, is upgrading their service. Beginning at 10 a.m. on April 16, you will need to use new URLs to log in to FTL. In addition, for the alternate (HTML-only) FTL interface, there are now two separate URLS—one for the general employee and one for performing managerial functions. Links to all of the FTL log-in methods and frequently asked questions are available on the FTL home page at http://timecard.fnal.gov.

Earth Week Fair Apr. 24
Earth Week Fair Apr. 24, Atrium The ESH&Q Section will sponsor the Earth Week Fair. Come join the festivities in the Atrium on Thursday Apr. 24 from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. There will be giveaways and a chance to win great raffle items. Come learn ways to be more earth friendly and what you and others can do to preserve our planet.

A new walking group, Wednesday Walkers, will begin walking at lunch time on April 2. Depart WH East Side at Noon. Time, distance and speed are up to you. All are welcome. 2014 Fermilab Golf League Season is upon us
Want to golf more than you have been lately? Consider joining the Fermilab Golf League. We have leagues playing weekly at the Fox Valley (North Aurora Wednesday evenings) and Bliss Creek (Sugar Grove Tuesday evenings) Golf Courses over the 2014 season. Golfers of all abilities are encouraged to play in our friendly, handicapped format. If you would like to play more, but feel that you can't commit to every week, we also look for golfers to fill our sub' pool. In the sub' pool, you would be contacted if one of the full-time golfers was unable to play. The season starts soon so contact Mike Matulik at matulik@fnal.gov or x4091 for more information.

Scottish country dancing meets Tuesday evenings at Kuhn Village Barn
Silk and Thistle Scottish country dancing is held every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Kuhn Village Barn. The group and is taught by Doug Jensen. Newcomers are always welcome and are paired with experienced dancers -- no need to come with a partner. International folk dancing meets Thursday evenings at Kuhn Village Barn
International folk dancing is held every Thursday evening, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Kuhn Village Barn. Newcomers are always welcome. There is instruction and dances for children and newer dancers early and request dancing later on. The group dances year-round, moving to Ramsey Auditorium in the summer.
