Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks certified for use
Desktop Engineering and the Fermilab Computing Security Team are releasing Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks after a thorough evaluation. If you wish to upgrade to OS X 10.9 Mavericks, you may submit a service desk request (https://fermi.service-now.com/) to have support staff evaluate your computer to determine whether the hardware will support the upgrade and, if so, to perform the upgrade. Please do not upgrade on your own. Upgrades can occasionally break installed applications and services.
Free abs classes - Dec. 16 and 18
Free Abs Classes on Monday, December 16 and Wednesday, December 18 at the Fitness Center Exercise Room from 12-12:30pm. No gym membership required. Doors will be open for class. For more info contact Jeanne in the Wellness Office at email@example.com or x2548.
Wilson Street Entrance Closed for Construction
Due to severe weather, the Wilson Street entrance to the Fermilab site will remain closed until January 2, 2014. Truck deliveries and employees will be re-routed to the Pine Street entrance.
Barn Dance Dec. 15
The Fermilab Folk Club presents a Barn Dance on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. in the Kuhn Village Barn with music by Just Us Chickens and calling by Tony Scarimbolo. Everyone is welcome. You don't need to know anything, just come and have fun! Admission is $6, children under 12 are free, 12 to 18 year olds and people over 65 are $3. Cashier's Office closed during holidays
The Cashier's Office will close at 3 pm on December 20 and reopen at 1 pm on January 2, 2014.
Box Office moves to the Mezzanine December 5
On Thursday, December 5, Fermilab's Box Office will move from One North to the mezzanine. Ticketing services will be unavailable during the move. Scottish country dancing meets Tuesday evenings through Dec. 17 at Kuhn Village Barn
Silk and Thistle Scottish Country Dancing meets at Kuhn Village Barn on Tuesdays, Dec. 3, 10 and 17, and then will resume on Jan. 7, 2014. The group dances from 7:30 to 10 p.m., sometimes to live music, and is taught by Doug Jensen. Most dances are walked through and newcomers are always welcome. International folk dancing meets Thursday evenings in Kuhn Village Barn
International Folk Dancing takes place in Kuhn Village Barn every Thursday evening, and will continue through the holidays without a break. Dancing begins at 7:30 p.m with instruction and dances for children, and there is request dancing later on. Newcomers are always welcome. You may also download and print the challenge and bring it to the ESH&Q Section on Wilson Hall 7-East, or send it in through the Fermi Mail to MS 119 by December 18, 2013. All successful submittals will be entered into the ESH&Q Take 5 Raffle. Five personnel will be notified of their prizes on December 19, 2013. So, don’t delay, take the challenge today! A Clue!
