Healthcare Spending Account Deadline March 15
Have you used all of your 2012 Healthcare Reimbursement Account funds? Employees with a 2012 FSA/Healthcare must spend the remaining balance by March 15. Claims must be submitted to the plan administrator, Payflex, by April 30. You can submit flexible spending claims to PayFlex online at https:www.HealthHub.com or via fax. Please note that any flexible spending contributions remaining after the deadline are forfeited. Fermilab Natural Areas presents "HAWK TALK: raptors at Fermilab" March 9
Please join us for this free, public event at Fermilab. Families welcome. Fermilab Natural Areas is hosting Larry Miller in conjunction with the Hawk Migration Association of North America. Mr. Miller will present a natural history and basic identification feature of some of Chicagolands hawk and raptor species. This event is open to anyone or any family with an interest in the outdoors and to learn more about raptors found within the Chicago region, especially at Fermilab. See you there! Walk 2 Run to Start March 14
Due to new snow Walk 2 Run will start one week later on March 14th. This FREE 10-week program can help you improve your fitness, reduce cholesterol and lose weight by gradually increasing your running potential. The first week we will begin walking and then run 2 minutes. At the conclusion of the 10 weeks we will complete a 30 minute continuous run. You are welcome to join us regardless of age, speed or level of experience. Thursdays: March 14 - May 16. Barn Dance March 10
We are very excited to welcome the return of caller Valerie Young! Valerie danced with us as an IMSA student and some of us attended dances she organized at IMSA. She is now living and calling in the DC area. Jennifer Jeffries (fiddle) and Paul Watkins (piano) will play traditional American dance music, including Southern, Midwest, New England, and French-Canadian music. Scottish country dancing meets Tuesday evenings in Kuhn Village Barn

Fermilab Arts & Lecture Series Presents THE BELIEVERS: A SCIENCE DOCUMENTARY
"The Believers" begins in 1989, when two respected scientists announced a startling claim:
they can solve all the world's energy problems using seawater, batteries, and a mysterious glass contraption in a process they called "Cold Fusion". Within days, Stanley Pons and Martin Fleischmann were media stars. But only three months later, their careers in tatters and their reputations ruined, they fled the country and Cold Fusion became synonymous with "bad science." DOEGrids certificates to be decommissioned-New certificate option
On March 23, the DOEGrids certificate authority will stop issuing new certificates and renewing existing certificates. Existing DOEGrids certificates will continue to work until they expire one year after they are created or renewed. Therefore, there will be no valid DOE certificates past March 2014. The new Open Science Grid certificate authority is now issuing certificates for those who need to replace their DOEGrids certificates. If you need a replacement for your DOEGrids personal, host or service certificate, see the PKI Transition website at http://security.fnal.gov/pki-transition for information and documentation.
Nominations open for 2013 Tollestrup Postdoc Award
URA will make an award for outstanding work conducted by a postdoctoral research fellow at Fermilab or in collaboration with Fermilab scientists. All Ph.D. researchers in non-tenure track who are within six years of the receipt of their Ph.D. are eligible. The work for which the award is made must be performed in conjunction with a Fermilab experiment or project, or under the auspices of the Fermilab Theory or Astrophysics Groups. 2013 FRA scholarship applications accepted until April 1
Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) offers a number of four-year scholarships to children of regular full-time FRA employees. The scholarship award continues for a maximum of four years provided the student remains in a four-year undergraduate program and maintains satisfactory academic progress. The maximum scholarship award amount available for tuition and fees is $4,700 per year. Applications are being accepted through April 2 for the 2013 FRA scholarship awards.
