Self service pay stub: Worth a second look

If you need to view or update your payroll information, take another look at Fermilab's improved, web-based Employee Self Service. The service now features a View Paycheck display that shows you a pdf file with all of the information that appears on the hardcopy that you receive at your mail station, including year-to-date information on earnings, taxes and deductions as well as your leave balances at the point in time that the pay period closed. As of August 12, the system archives each pay advice as a pdf file for your secure viewing and, if necessary, printing on a single sheet of paper, suitable for sharing with financial advisors and loan officers. As in the past, you can view your most recent pay information online as soon as payroll has been processed. You can also use the online system for all other payroll services, such as securely updating your direct deposit information, your W-4 tax information and your charitable contributions.

To use the online service, go to the payroll website (login required) in Fermipoint and click on the link for Employee Self Service under Services. You can also go directly to the Employee Self Service page. Log in.

If you are using the system for the first time, click on the "Forgot your password?" link, then enter your user ID (your five-digit employee ID number including the letter N; for example, 01234N). Answer the security question, and then select "E-mail new password." A temporary password will be emailed to you. Use it to sign in to Employee Self Service.

Once you are signed in, click the Main Menu tab and select Self Service. From there, you can view and update your payroll information and select other services, such as reviewing your Fermilab benefits and updating your emergency contact information.

To help the Payroll Department save paper, please send an email to askpayroll@fnal.gov and inform them that you no longer need hard copies of your pay advice. Be sure to include your Fermilab ID number and contact information. By opting out of pay advices, you are contributing towards our environmental goal of reducing the use of paper and ink. Thank you.
