Chicago Field Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence to offer counterintelligence cyber awareness seminar - Sept. 15
Become more cyber aware, learn how to identify the counterintelligence cyber threat, review selected case studies and forensics and more during a seminar on counterintelligence and cyber awareness on Sept 15 and 16, co-hosted by Laurie Tyzenhaus of the U.S. Department of Energy's Chicago Field Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence and Argonne National Laboratory's Steve Fuller. Bowlers wanted Wednesday nights
The Combined FermiLab & Nicor Wednesday Night bowling league (FERMTHERM’s) is looking for a few bowlers or complete teams to participate in a fun evening of entertainment and friendship. This is a sanctioned mixed league with both Fermilab & NICOR employees + friends. Bowling starts at 5:30 p.m. Cost: $15/Week includes bowling and prize funds. Robotics for Fermilab employees' children
The Fox Valley Robotics club invites the children of Fermilab employees grades 5-12 to participate in robotics competitions. In the past many of the club's robots have qualified nationally. Informational meetings for each of three levels will be held at the Rotolo Middle School in Batavia: LegoDogs (grades 5-8, http://firstlegoleague.org) on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. or Saturday, Sept, 12 at 10:30 a.m., and both Coyotes (grades 8-12, http://vexrobotics.com) and Wolves (grades 10-12, http://usfirst.org) on Sat Sept 12 at 2:00pm. New Lo Cardio Class - Sept. 14 - Nov. 16
A great class for beginners or choose your own intensity. Improve your cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength at your own pace on the step or floor and we'll add light weights. We'll also work on posture, core and flexibility. A class for anyone who wants to exercise and have fun at the same time. New Tai Chi For Health class - Sept. 14 - Nov. 16
Tai Chi is a low impact form of exercise for those who want to improve balance, range of motion, flexibility, increase energy, lower blood pressure, core strength and have mind-body harmony at the same time. We will emphasize core work and posture to help ease lower back pain and relieve tension in shoulders. URA Visiting Scholars Program now accepting applications
Universities Research Association, Inc. (URA) has announced a deadline of September 18, 2009 for the submission of applications for the second round of 2009 awards in the URA Visiting Scholars Program at Fermilab. Successful applicants will be notified at the end of October.

Mosaico Hispanico - celebrating Hispanic music and dance - Sept. 19
Presented in conjunction with the Fermilab Diversity Council, join us as we celebrate the music and dance of Spain, Mexico and Puerto Rico. The evening begins with the Las Guitarras de Espana, featuring music and dance of Spain, primarily Flamenco. The colorful Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago then takes the stage, with 22 dancers and multiple costume changes. English Country Dancing - Sept. 20
English country dancing will next meet on Sunday Sept. 20, at Kuhn Village Barn. Vacation policy changes for exempt employees - Sept. 1
Beginning in September 2009, the reporting period associated with vacation time taken will change for exempt (monthly) employees to synchronize reporting and accounting dates in the electronic Fermilab Time and Labor system. This change does not affect the amount of vacation exempt employees accrue.
