Science Chicago hosts Mythbusters
Through August 2009, Science Chicago offers tours, hands-on activities and other science-related events for adults and children, many free of charge. Events include the Fermilab Open House on Jan. 17 and a visit by the Mythbusters of the Discovery Channel, Adam Savage & Jamie Hyneman, on March 1 at the Harris Theater. Holiday Pay Dates
Monthly employees will be paid on Dec. 30. Weekly employees - W/E 12-21-08 will be paid on Dec. 23. W/E 12-28-08 will be paid on Jan. 2, 2009.
Shop early - Lederman Science Center store open until Dec. 20
The Lederman Science Center and gift shop will be closed for the holidays beginning Dec. 22 through Jan 2. Please place online orders by Dec. 18 to ensure mailing. Deliveries before Christmas are not guaranteed. The LSC will be open on Saturday, Dec. 27, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular hours resume Saturday, Jan. 3. Contact Andrea Varry at x8258 for more information.

The Payroll department will close at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 and reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Dec. 29. The Cashier's office will close at 4 p.m. on Dec. 23 and reopen at 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 5.
Weekly Time Sheets are due Dec. 22
Week ending 12/28/08 time sheets are due in payroll by 10 a.m. on Dec. 22. The pay date will be Jan. 2, 2009. Revisions for week ending Dec. 21 are due by 9 a.m. on Dec. 22.
SciTech winter camps, Dec. 22-23 and 29-30
SciTech offers two 2-day winter camps for kids ages 6-14: Dec. 22-23, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Dec. 29-30, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Parents can drop off their children anytime between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. and pick them up between 3:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. SciTech staff will supervise all campers at all times. Find carpool partners with PACE
PACE offers a free program to look for carpool partners. Register at http://www.pacerideshare.com and enter the start point of your daily commute. Then choose Fermilab from the list of employers and select Fermilab again for the street address. To find carpool partners for the West Chicago and Route 59 Metra train stations, enter the address of the train station as the start of your commute.
