Fermilab Weekly Safety Report Archive

Each week, Fermilab Today will publish the safety report compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section. It includes information on injuries reported at the Medical Department as well as the overall safety performance at the lab.

Tuesday, May 6
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, lists three incidents reported to the Medical Department. None of them were recordable injuries. The last recordable injury occurred 31 days ago.

Tuesday, April 29
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, lists no DART injuries. It has been 24 days since the last recordable injury.

Tuesday, April 22
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, lists no DART injuries. It has been 42 hours since the last recordable injury.

Tuesday, April 15
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, lists two minor, non-recordable injuries. The last DART case involving a Fermilab employee occurred more than 6 months ago. The last DART case involving a subcontractor happened almost three months ago.

Tuesday, April 8
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, lists no recordable injury. Fermilab employees have worked 28 days without recordable injury.

Tuesday, April 1
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, shows that a minor injury in February 2008 was upgraded from non-reportable to reportable. This increases the total number of reportable cases in FY08 to seven. There were no injuries reported last week. Fermilab has worked 21 days without recordable injury.

Tuesday, March 25
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, includes no reportable incidents. It has been 14 days since the last recordable incident.

Tuesday, March 18
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, includes one minor, non-reportable first aid case.

Tuesday, March 11
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, includes two cases. One reportable, first-aid case included an individual who needed first aid to remove a staple from between their finger and fingernail. A non-reportable case involved a person injuring their back while lifting.

Tuesday, March 4
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, includes a non-reportable first-aid case of a person tripping while climbing stairs without holding onto the handrail. Tripping and slipping incidents are among the most frequent incidents reported at Fermilab, especially during winter time. This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, includes two non-recordable, first-aid cases of people slipping on ice hidden below snow-covered surfaces.

Tuesday, February 5
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, includes two recordable injuries resulting from slipping on ice. The laboratory now has five recordable cases for the fiscal year.

Tuesday, January 29
This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, provides an update on a Dec. 22 accident in which a subcontractor fell on ice. The accident counts as a DART case (Days Away, Restricted or Transferred) since the subcontractor lost days of work. Fermilab now has two DART cases and four recordable cases for the fiscal year.

This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, lists one incident. Fermilab employees now have worked 39 days without a Recordable Injury, and 108 days since the last injury that resulted in restricted or lost time.

This week's safety report, compiled by the Fermilab ES&H section, lists no incidents. Fermilab employees now have worked 34 days without a Recordable Injury, and 101 days since the last injury that resulted in restricted or lost time.

Tuesday, January 8
