Fermilab Arts Series opens this weekend with special access procedures

BATAVIA, Ill.-With a twin-bill of Groucho Marx movies on Friday night, Sept. 20, and with Frank Ferrante's live performance of "An Evening with Groucho" on Saturday night, Sept. 21, the Fermilab Arts Series for 2002-2003 gets off to a rousing start this weekend at Ramsey Auditorium in Wilson Hall.

Due to security measures enacted by the U.S. Department of Energy, those attending the presentations must enter the Fermilab site by the west side entrance, on Pine Street and Kirk Road, where security officers will direct them to designated parking areas. Patrons must also leave through the west gate.

Future events in the 2002-2003 Fermilab Arts Series, Film Series and Lecture Series will be held as scheduled, with these access restrictions in place. The lab's cultural offerings also operated under these same conditions throughout the 2001-2002 season, following security measures enacted as a result of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

All Arts Series presentations begin at 8 p.m. and tickets are available at the door, both for tonight's films and for Saturday night's presentation.

For more information on the Fermilab Arts Series, the Film Series, Lecture Series and other public events, please visit the Web site at www.fnal.gov/culture/arts_series.shtml/ or call 630-840-ARTS (630-840-2787). You may also send email to audweb@fnal.gov or send a fax to 630-840-5501.

Fermilab is a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory, operated under contract by Universities Research Association, Inc.
