Operation Terminology Skew
When a magnet is skewed, it has been rotated a certain amount of degrees depending on the magnet's function: a skew dipole's rotation would be around 90º, a skew quadrupole's rotation would be around 45º, and a skew sextupole's rotation would be around 22.5º. This allows the magnet to bend the beam both vertically and horizontally.
