Operation Summary for March 28, 2011 - March 30, 2011 |
|
Monday March 28 The day shift began with the Main Injector (MI), Linac, and Booster operating normally, with NuMI off for target replacement, with the MiniBooNE and MTest experiments taking beam, with the Tevatron off for the D16-2 magnet replacement. During the day shift, starting at 9:34 AM, Booster was off for the rest of the shift to repair two vacuum leaks and a stuck LCW flow switch. Main Injector used this downtime to repair some instrumentation problems and a buss water leak. During the evening shift, Operations established beam to MiniBooNE at 5:24 PM, and beam to MTest at 5:31 PM. Permission was given to start the D1 cool-down (D16-2 magnet replacement is complete) at 8:18 PM. Operations turned off MTest at 10:02 PM.Tuesday March 29 The midnight shift began with MiniBooNE taking beam and Operations monitoring the D1 cool-down. During the midnight shift, Operations established beam to MTest at 6:17 AM. During the day shift, PBar began stacking at 10:01 AM. Operations disabled beam to PBar, MiniBooNE, and MTest at 11:25 AM for Transfer Hall and F-Sector accesses to remove the magnet mover from D-Sector. Operations re-established beam to PBar, MiniBooNE and MTest at 2:00 PM. Operations searched and secured D0. During the evening shift, Operations finish the search and secure for Tev A-E and turned off MTest at 5:43 PM.Wednesday March 30 The midnight shift began with Operations monitoring the stash (260.3E10), and with Pbar stacking, and with MiniBooNE taking beam, and with the Tev D1 cool-down in progress. During the midnight shift, D1 was cold at 4:45 AM. Operations began putting current on the Tev buss at 5:23 AM, and ramped the Tev to 980 Gev at 6:33 AM, followed by a Tev quench at D1. Quench recovery was in progress at the end of the shift. The Plans for Wednesday The plans for today are recover the Tev, stack and stash, and put a store in the Tev. Deliver beam MiniBooNE and MTest (when requested). |
