Accelerator Update for June 10, 2009 - June 12, 2009

Wednesday June 10

The day shift began with Operations monitoring the Tevatron (TeV) store 7128 (260.32E30) and Recycler stash (56.3E10), with the Antiproton Source stacking (8.0E10), with the Linac, Booster, and Main Injector (MI) operating normally, with the Meson MTest, NuMI, and MiniBooNE experiments taking beam, and with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) and D-Zero (D0) experiments using the colliding beam.

EE Support personnel tested the MiniBooNE horn throughout the day shift.

Booster personnel completed their Gradient Magnet Power Supply (GMPS #2) work and had it online by 11:15 AM.

Operations disabled the MTest beam at 8 PM.

Operations terminated store 7128 at 11:01 PM and put the TeV into HEP shot setup.

Thursday June 11

The midnight shift began with the TeV in shot setup, with Operations monitoring the stash, with Pbar stacking (41.2E10), and with NuMI and MiniBooNE taking beam.

Operations halted the MiniBooNE beam at 12:01 AM in preparation for access to MI-12B. The MiniBooNE experiment began its shutdown.

Operations established store 7129 at 12:46 AM with an average initial luminosity (AIL) of 286.6E30.

Operations established MTest beam at 4:20 AM.

Operation terminated store 7129 at 11:29 AM. TeV personnel conducted studies through out the rest of the day shift.

Operations turned off the MTest beam early on the evening shift.

Operations put the TeV into HEP shot setup and established store 7131 at 5:39 PM with an AIL of 288.5E30.

Friday June 12

The midnight shift began with Operations monitoring store 7131 (122.33E30) and the stash (175.6E10), with Pbar stacking 19.0E10), and with NuMI taking beam.

Operations established beam to MTest at 4 AM.

Operations terminated store 7131 at 7:08 AM. Several accelerator studies began.

The Plans for Friday and the Weekend

The plans for today are to stack, stash, and store. In preparation for the shutdown, Operations will turn off beam to Booster, MI, and NuMI at 12:01 AM on Saturday (6/13/09), to the Recycler at noon on Saturday, and to the TeV at 12:01 AM on Sunday. The shutdown begins at 8 AM on Monday (6/15/09).
