On August 3, thirty-five employees received Employee Performance Recognition Awards. Fermilab Director Pier Oddone presented award certificates at 4:30 p.m. on the Wilson Hall Crossover. "My favorite activity is to recognize outstanding performance," said Oddone. "We are doing that today with a group of individuals that have gone beyond their duties and done something great. They contribute mightily to build this great institution."

The following employees received awards:

	Nominated by Jed Brown/B.Chrisman Directorate Award Certificate: Dean Hoffer is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for outstanding work in preparing Fermilab's special report on Civilian Nuclear Infrastructure and Facilities. Facilities Engineering Services Section Award Certificate: Robert J. Lootens is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his accomplishments during twelve years of volunteer service as Chairman of the Ecological Land Management Committee.
	Nominated by Steve Holmes (Accel Div) Award Certificate Yuri Alexahin is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for Helix improvements in the Tevatron. Award Certificate: John Anderson is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for developing the Accelerator Division Safety plan and for his excellent leadership of its implementation. Award Certificate: Timothy Berenc is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for leading the development effort and implementation of Mid-level RF in the Main Injector. Award Certificate: Kevin Cahill is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his efforts in migrating accelerator applications program from the Vax system to the linux sytem. Award Certificate: Salah Chaurize is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for an outstanding job as Accelerator Division Assistant Run Coordinator Award Certificate: Brian Drendel is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for an outstanding job as Accelerator Division Assistant Run Coordinator. Award Certificate: James Hylen is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for successful handling of all target hall issues during NuMI commissioning and operations. Award Certificate: Cezary Jach is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for the effort to identify and solve the problem with the potential transformers in the Laboratory's switchgears. Award Certificate: Peter Kasper is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for leading the controls migration effort. Award Certificate: Ioanis Kourbanis is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for outstanding leadership of the Main Injector Department that resulted in increased luminosity for the Tevatron Collider and the very successful commissioning and operation of the NuMI beam. Award Certificate: Raymond Lewis is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his role in coordinating the OSHA inspection scheduled, coordinating and tracking the division OSHA findings to completion. Award Certificate: Alberto Marchionni is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for leadership of the Main Injector Department, and in particular for his efforts in the successful commissioning of the NuMI beam. Award Certificate: Carl Schumann is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his efforts in migrating accelerator applications program from the Vax system to the linux system. Award Certificate: Alexander Valishev is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for an improvement in the beta star at each detector and the resulting increase in luminosity. Award Certificate: Daniel Wolff is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for the effort to identify and solve the problem with the potential transformers in the Laboratory's switchgears.
	Nominated by S.Holmes (TD) Award Certificate: James Kerby is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his leadership role in the US LHC project at Fermilab, as well as his assumption of total responsibility for the US LHC Project. Award Certificate: John Konc is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his community service and outreach efforts at the SciTech Science Museum in Aurora. Award Certificate: Peter Mazur is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for essential contributions to the success of the Pierre Auger Observatory's array of 1600 water Cherenkov particle detectors deployed over 3000 square kilometers of remote desert in Argentina. Award Certificate: Victor Yarba is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his outstanding performance as Acting Head of the Technical Division during the extended period of search for the new Division Head. Award Certificate: Alexander Zlobin is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his leadership at Fermilab in the Nb3Sn R&D high field magnets including LARP.
	Nominated by Hugh Montgomery (CD) Award Certificate: Stephen Kent is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for inspired leadership in the Fermilab astrophysics program and in particular his many contributions to experimental design, data processing, analysis, and scientific output of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Award Certificate: Ruth Pordes is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for leadership and tireless work on the Open Science Grid where she was recently elected the Executive Director. Award Certificate: Brian Yanny is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for numerous contributions to the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, including his co-leadership of the SEGUE working group, his many contributions to data processing, including the Catalog Archive Server, and his science discoveries of structures in the halo of the Milky Way Galaxy.
	Nominated by Hugh Montgomery (PPD) Award Certificate: William Cooper is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for the design, construction and installation of the Layer 0 Detector Award Certificate: Joshua Frieman is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for coordinating Sloan Digital Sky Survey Supernova Search. Award Certificate: Daniel Green is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for strong and sustained leadership for the US-CMS program, culminating in the recent successful achievement of CD4-A. Award Certificate: Stefan Gruenendahl is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his leadership in making the D0 fiber tracker trigger program a success Award Certificate: Eileen Hahn is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for excellence in work relating to thin-film vacuum deposition and optical fibers. Under Eileen's leadership, the group has developed a reputation for excellence and an expertise that is difficult to match by industry. Award Certificate: Carlos Hojvat is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for serving as Deputy Project Manager of the Auger Project for the past ten years. His accomplishments in building up the staff and in developing an administrative structure have been major contributions to the success of the Auger Project. Award Certificate: Patrick Lukens is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for successfully leading the CDF Run2b upgrades for the past 3.5 years, and they are essentially complete, ahead of time and under budget. Award Certificate: Paul MacKenzie is awarded an Employee Performance Recognition Award for his dedicated and effective leadership and management of the internationally recognized Fermilab Lattice Gauge Theory collaboration. This has brought significant resources into the laboratory.
