Pasquinelli Parkway Dedicated Last Week

Ralph Pasquinelli
Ralph Pasquinelli
Ralph Pasquinelli, head of the Accelerator RF Department, has joined the likes of Wilson, Feynman, and Lederman as one of the select few with a piece of Fermilab named after him. Pasquinelli Parkway, a gravel road meant to be a temporary construction road 8 years ago for a stochastic cooling test, but now more or less permanent, runs between buildings AP10 and AP30 to the interior of the Pbar source. Pasquinelli has devoted much of his Fermilab career to work on stochastic cooling including four years as head of the Antiproton Source Department. It was during his tenure that the road now bearing his name was laid. Elvin Harms, currently head of the Antiproton Source Department, said before the crowd of well-wishers on hand to witness the unveiling of the street sign that the naming of the 'road to nowhere' was an appropriate way to recognize Pasquinelli's many contributions to Fermilab. In return, Pasquinelli promised to personally give his new namesake the landscaping it deserves.
