Operation Terminology

RF

RF stands for Radio Frequency, which is the electromagnetic energy used to accelerate particles. In general, accelerator studies fall into two categories: first and primarily, they're used to increase machine efficiency in creating, transporting, and accelerating particles so that experimenters can better understand and make discoveries about the properties of matter; second, they help physicists understand particle accelerators.
