Application Procedure

Written applications for support will be considered twice a year by a committee composed of the URA-appointed regional university members of the FRA Board of Directors and ex-officio laboratory representatives. Application deadlines will be March 1 and September 1, 2008. Materials should be sent in text or pdf format to URA-SCHOLARS-PROGRAM@fnal.gov.

Applications should include a statement of the research to be performed in conjunction with the visit, the name of a Fermilab collaborator, a curriculum vitae and a budget, and must also include agreement by the visitor's university to the terms of the award as described in this announcement.

A supporting letter from the Fermilab collaborator is required, and in the case of students, a letter from the dissertation advisor supporting the application and explaining provisions for supervision of the student during the visit will also be required. Up to two additional letters of support for the project are welcome but not required. Other sources of travel funding from existing grants should be documented and the way in which URA funding will provide additional scientific benefits should be explained.
