I believe I would be a fit for someone coming into the technical side. I like to help, am very resourceful and am goal oriented. I also enjoy the science side of things a great deal. I currently attend college and work full time. I have been an electronic technician since 1994 working mostly in the prototype and design manufacturing field with seasoned engineers. I served in the military for nine years working on three different types of aircraft and a mom of one grown son serving in the Army and another teenage son in high school. I have experience with summer students. I work in accelerator design, construction, and tuning with a bit of modeling and physics. I am one of the laboratory’s resident lasers and optics specialists. Because of my assignments at Fermilab, I have worked with many individuals in many divisions throughout the laboratory. I am familiar with the laboratory’s available resources and inner workings. As a senior member of Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), I have experience in leading various outreach activities on behalf of IEEE and my employers, including Argonne National Laboratory. I have knowledge of how things work at Fermilab, its policies and procedures. I came to the Lab in 1990 as an on-call and "climbed the corporate ladder" to my present job. Although I had advanced degrees they were not in science or engineering so I had to start from the bottom which meant I learned a lot. I believe in empowering people to become the best they can be, try to motivate and encourage those who work with me and for me to improve their circumstances and pursue higher education and a better life for themselves, etc. We have such a fascinating and interesting place to work in this international environment and I find that very satisfying from a diversity point of view.
